Tinleigh and Timberlee?

My friend at church said she knew a girl that named her daughter Tinleigh, and then my cousins niece is having a baby girl today and they are naming her Timberlee. It's not often I find different names to post, so I had to share.

They both have their appeal to me, though I think Tinleigh would be better off as Tinley. Timberlee is cute, but I automatically associate it with the shoe brand, Timberland. But it has an outdoor, woodsy feel to it.

Not really a fan of either one, I'm not a huge fan of many of the newer names now a days. Tinleigh/Tinley makes me think of Tin roofs on houses and Timberlee makes think of when people yell "Timber!" when they cut down tree's. But if I had to choose, Tinley would win over Timberlee.

A girl i work with has a niece named Tinsley. Its a family name and I much prefer this over Tinley/Tinleigh. I just think the S softens the name a bit and makes it sound less like they just added a -lee/leigh to a random word. Reminds me of Kenley/Kinley.

I also have a cousin named Timber who is ~35. Not sure where her mom got the name but I've always thought it was interesting. Timberly/Timberlee just sounds like someone who is mispronouncing Kimberly or looks like a typo of Kimberly. I also think of Timberland which does give it the outdoorsy vibe.

Personally I'm not a fan of either name, they just aren't my style. But neither name is bad or has any off putting associations. I think both names are unique but still recognizable.

I dislike both, tbh. Only because I'm not a fan of super trendy/unique/modern names - unless one just happens to be a family name. Even then, I'm not totally sold.
I tend not to like names that sound made-up or like people wanted something "different" so they just added a random extra syllable to an already established name, sort of like when people replace the spelling of part of a name with "y" to somehow make it appear more feminine.
...doesn't do it for me, sorry.
With that said, the names aren't the worst I've heard by far; they're just nms, and I don't think they would age well simply because they sound really cutesy. IMHO.

hmm my first thought is Tinea, sp? the foot infection. But i know a girl with a similar name, Temily and i don't know why i like it but i kninda do.

Hmm I think I'd lean a lttle bit more towards Tinley than I would Timberlee. They're both actually kind of cute to me...I actually made a Build-a-Bear named Timberly

I'm guessing that Timberly is a play on the name Kimberly? The trendy "T" names are actually more popular than they sound. I was watching a show a few days ago with a girl named Tamela in it (as a play on Pamela).

Neither is for me, sorry. Tinley is much better than Tinleigh, but I just think that generally -ley is better than the more confusing -leigh.
