Better as a stand alone name or as a nn for Eleanor?

Good question! ;) To be honest, I like it both as a nickname and stand-alone name. It seems "full" or "complete" enough to be a name on its own, but at the same time, it's a cute nickname for Eleanor. So either is fine with me, actually. I suppose if I had to choose, I would prefer it as a name on its own.

I agree with Meghan. I love Nora! I do believe that it is more than capable of standing along. For Eleanor though I believe that Nora is a long nickname for it, I would go with Elle as the nickame.

I love Nora! I think it's beautiful on its own, but I also like it as a nn for names like Eleanor. But I think I prefer it on its own, even if only because Eleanor isn't one of my favorite longer forms.

I adore Nora so much! I feel like its one of those nicknamey type names that would be better on its own. Say, you were going to name your daughter Eleanor just to call her Nora, then just call her Nora. The same with Kate. It's just I feel its short compared to my other babies.
Aasyn, Hayleigh, and Nora?

Though I do adore Nora Caitlyn and Nora Skylar

I think whichever makes you happiest is the best choice here ;) Nora definitely stands well on its own, though I love Eleanor (or even Eleanora) and thats probably the route I'd go personally. But I just love vintage names soo.. haha :)

I like Nora as a stand alone first name, and I also like the idea of using it as a nickname for Eleanor but only if you really love Eleanor or want that vintage feel. If you aren't in love with Eleanor and you think that Nora just needs something extra...what about Annora, Honora, Enora, Lenora/Lenore, Sonora, or Gwenora nn Nora?

I love Eleanor, but I don't think I can see myself with an Eleanor.

And I adore Eleanora

I've gone baby crazy again. I was rocking Hayleigh to sleep last night and I literally rearranged the whole room in my head to fit a new baby girl in there. Complete with bedding themes, colors, and decorations. Lol

Well, I suppose I am very biased on your question! My 11 month old daughter is Nora Kate, and I think it is an absolutely perfect name. Sometimes we call her Nora Kate, sometimes Nora. It doesn't feel like it is too short to stand alone. We've liked Nora since we were dating, and anytime we tell people, they ALWAYS have positive comments about how nice or pretty the name is. Nora Caitlyn is nice too.

I've never been a fan of giving a baby a long name, and then planning to call them by a nn. So I definitely vote yes for Nora. :)

Nora Kate was one of the combos I tossed around for a while. It's so gorgeous!

I like both. I love Nora by itself and I love Eleanor. I also like Eleanora :)

They're all pretty
