I've fallen in love with this name recently. I've always loved Katherine, but I think Kathleen has a little bit more character and it's not quite as common.

So a couple questions for you:

1. What do you think of the name Kathleen?
2. As you may or may not know, I'm not a huge fan of nicknames. If I did someday use the name Kathleen, I wouldn't like my child to be called Kathy/Katie/Leen etc. So my question for you is do you think Kathleen is a name that needs to be shortened or do you think I'd have no trouble simply having her called Kathleen?
3. Any middle name suggestions? I do like Kathleen Rose, but I pair Rose with everything and would probably like to use Rose as a first name, so I'm looking for some more unique/underused middle name options that compliment Kathleen.

Work your magic baby namers :(

I love the name Kathleen. I think it's one of those names that ages so perfectly, working so well on any age. Personally, I think Kathleen is one of those names that is always going to be shortened by someone, yet still works as just Kathleen and no nickname.

I'm not so good with middle names but I'm a huge fan of Kathleen Erin.

I think Kathleen is a great name! It kinda does have a bit more personality to it, though I adore Katherine haha! And it ages so well! And generally just sounds really nice- classic :( but not to classic lol.

I dont think Kathleen would need a nick name at all! I know Katherine's who go by this, absolutely no Kate for them lol. I'd think that it'd be no problem. Unless she insists she absolutely needs a nick name, cause I guess some kiddo's are like that. But, Its pretty short and all, flows nicely off the tongue.

An middle names....

Kathleen Elizabeth
Kathleen Willa
Kathleen Isabel
Kathleen Penelope
Kathleen Johanna
Kathleen Veronica
Kathleen Theresa
Kathleen Alyssa
Kathleen Georgia
Kathleen Aria
Kathleen Maeve
Kathleen Beatrice
Kathleen Honora
Kathleen Victoria
Kathleen Olive
Kathleen Faye
Kathleen Siobhan (you love Irish names, right? Aoife, Saoirse, etc would all sound great and have personality for Kathleen!)

Hope this helps! Lemme know if you need more :)

I prefer Katherine too Kathleen. But im thinking that 'Kathleen' would be less common :( It's also a very elegant name!

I think that, it would be fine for you to just use Kathleen, by itself. From day one, let Family/Friends know that you aren't using any nicknames... and that shouldn't be an issue.
