My question: Thoughts on Edelweiss

1. Is it usable as a first name?

2. Does the nn Lissy work?

3. General thoughts about the name?

I adore Edelweiss, but I think it works better in the middle name spot, especially as it might be pronounced wrong a lot. I'm not sure on the nn Lissy, it doesn't really feel all that intuitive to me, something like Della I would find easier to grasp as a nn for it.

~~~
Would it be weird to use both Margo and Mary-Pearl in a sibset? Are they too similar? Both Margo and Pearl share the same meaning, and would both be honouring my grandmothers, who are both called Margaret.
Would using Margo as a first name and Pearl as a middle name be too similar? (E.g. Margo Edelweiss and Winifred Pearl)
I don't believe Margo and Mary-Pearl are too similar at all! The meaning doesn't matter that much, when they are very different names. Besides, as sisters, having a similar name meaning is special more than anything. Again, making them first and middles is just fine! I've heard of families that give all their kids the same middle! Margo Edelweiss and Winifred Pearl works well for sisters!
Good luck!
My question:
------------------------
No, Not at all! I personally like Annika a lot better than McKenna, but especially with the nicknames, it makes for a super cute pair!
--------------------------
I have always dreamt about naming one of my girls Sarah Elizabeth, but I also want one of my girls to be Sierra Renay (a nod to my mother) as well. Are Sarah and Sierra way to close to be siblings? Or could I get away with it? Also if I changed Sarah to Saraiah (Sah-Ri-Yuh), would that be better, worse or the same?
Absolutely way too close, sorry! And I think Saraiah is just as close. Maybe use one as a middle name and the other as a first, ie Elizabeth Sierra and Sarah Renee (would fit stylistically perfect with Elizabeth and Sarah as firsts!)
I agree that they are really close names. It might be best to make one a middle name as Addy suggested.
Is Finn a stand alone name for a boy? I don't want to have to use it as a nn.
TIA!
I personally prefer it as a nickname, but I can totally see it standalone! I think it is best with a long middle name, ie Finn Alexander, to make it look complete.
I think Finn could definitely stand alone! I personally prefer the full name Finley for it, but it's cute nonetheless. I agree that a longer middle name would balance it out well.
I love both Huxley and Henry. Huxley has been my latest crush, I especially love the nn Hux. Of the two, I think Henry is my favorite but Huxley goes better with Brogan
Henry is one of my all time favorites <3 Huxley is all right.  I prefer Henry, but I think Huxley fits better with Brogan stylistically.
My question:
As full names, yes, but the nicknames are different enough that it works.
Would it be weird to use both Margo and Mary-Pearl in a sibset? Are they too similar? Both Margo and Pearl share the same meaning, and would both be honouring my grandmothers, who are both called Margaret.
I don't think Margo and Mary-Pearl are too similar.  I think it's cute that they share the same meaning/honor the same person!
I also think it'd be fine to have Margo as a first name and Pearl as a middle name.  I don't think anyone would really notice that their meanings are the same!
My question:
Is Nigel too "out-there" or too geeky to use?
I love Nigel! It feels sorta preppy if anything, not geeky or out there at all.
My question:
I think Nigel has a sort of old man, vintage feel that's becoming quite popular nowadays, at least for me it does. It reminds me of names like Alfred and Albert that are making a comeback, at least in the UK.
My question:
Is Nigel too "out-there" or too geeky to use?
I wouldn't use Nigel myself, but I agree that it's definitely not too geeky--as Hannah said, the older "geeky" names, though still uncommon, are growing in popularity and perfectly acceptable nowadays. I don't think a little Nigel would necessarily get made fun of or anything.
What are your thoughts on Hooper? Should I just keep it as a guilty pleasure?
I don't think Hooper is too unusual to use--it's only slightly different from Cooper, which is pretty popular. But I would probably recommend keeping it in the middle name spot.
Here's my question:
What do you think of the name Arden, and which gender do you like it on?
I've been crushing particularly hard on Arden lately, despite my usual preference for classics, but love it for both genders and just wanted to see what you guys thought.
