Basically, I want to know what you think of Eliza Nimueh and how well it goes with the other names I have on my favorites list. Keep in mind that Eliza is my favorite name and it won't be changing in the near future.

Look here and here to see about the name. Nimue/Nimueh has quite an interesting history. The 'h' spelling is legitimate, and I think it makes it a bit easier to pronounce.

Here is my list so far {pronunciation is in ( ), though they are not hard to pronounce once you have heard them once or twice.}:

Eliza Nimueh
(eh-LY-zah)(NIM-oo-ay)
Gwendolen Carys (GWEN-do-len)(KAH-riss)
Cassia Rhiannon (KASS-ee-uh)(ree-AN-un)
Veronica Lenore (veh-RON-ih-kah)(leh-NOR)

As you can see, I really like classic first names with ususual middle names. Cassia isn't a classic, but really I think it could/should be. I do not have any problem with middle names that are hard to spell (as long as the spellings are legitimate). They probably won't be used much, anyway. I worry more about pronunciation, and I don't think the ones I picked are any more difficult than the weird stuff some parents are into nowadays (Nevaeh, for instance). Plus, I see more exotic picks like Saoirse, Maeve, Niamh, and Siobhan a lot anymore. To repeat: I want to know what you think of Eliza Nimueh and how well it goes with the other names I have on my favorites list.

I'm really trying hard to find a name like Carys, Rhiannon, and Lenore that just fits with Eliza. It is not easy, and I'd really appreciate some help from all you name nerds out there (no offense, I'm one too).

Nimueh doesn't sound very attractive in my opinion. But you're names aren't really my style, especially the middle names, so I may not be the right person to give suggestions. I like Eliza, Cassia and Veronica, but I'm not a fan of any of the others. Rhiannon doesn't sound attractive to me. It sounds awkward.

I LOVE the first name Eliza. I think Nimueh goes nicely with it and complements your other names very well. I like your style, it is classic with an old school authurian twist on it :)

Nimueh reminds me of another name I've heard but I can't put my finger on it at the moment.

I just remembered the "Name" I was thinking of. Its not really a name but a word. In The Mummy Returns (one of my favorite movies which I have watched a million times) there is an egyptian word that sounds similar to Nimueh. Not sure on spelling but the word sounds like SIM oo ay, and if I am remembering correctly means "Save me"

Pretty sad that I know that.

That's perfectly alright. I have an odd style with girls names. My boy names are much more mainstream. Have you by chance ever heard the 1970's song "Rhiannon?" I have, and that could be why I don't find the name awkward. I'm perfectly comfortable with the pronunciation. Do you know the singer Rihanna? Her name is a misspelled version of Rhianna, which is a form of Rhiannon. Both Rihanna and Rhianna are more popular than Rhiannon. Rhiannon is also a name from Welsh mythology usually meaning either "divine queen" or just "queen." It is much more popular in Europe than in the U.S. Sorry for getting all explainery, but I was just trying to say why I like Rhiannon. I probably failed, but oh well. Our tastes are obviously different, so I can't expect you to like anything I like.

Doe Nimueh remind you of Niamh? I mentioned it in my post, and the spelling is somewhat similar. I think Niamh has a gorgeous spelling, but I'm not fond of the sound. If Niamh isn't the name you were thinking of and it comes to you later, then I'd certainly like to know what the name is. Thank you for liking Eliza. It's my favorite name, and has been for a loooonnnggg time. It has taken me forever to find something I really like with it, and so far Nimueh looks good. :(

Thanks for the compliment about my style, I really don't get many people who like it. Did you mean Arthurian? Yeah, Gwendolen and Nimueh both have a Middle Agey feel to them. Eliza and Veronica have a bit of that, but are more modern feeling in my opinion. Like it says on the website, Nimueh is another name for the Lady of the Lake (although the Nimue spelling is used more often). I actually first heard it on the BBC series Merlin a few years ago. I thought it was pretty then, and I think it is pretty now. I've been trying to find a name along the same lines as Rhiannon and Carys, and I think Nimueh fits the bill quite well. I've always liked a lot of Arthurian names (Arthur and Elaine are on my list, too). I'm also really quite partial to Welsh names. Gwendolen, Rhiannon, and Carys are all Welsh.

I love Eliza!

Though, Nimueh doesn't sound very attractive to me, either :)

I can see how its odd, as the other middle names somewhat are. But I think it's a bit odder than the others :(

Oh, and isn't Cassia suppose to be pronounced Cash-ah? It's the feminine form of Cassius (Cash-is)... I can see how Cass-ee-a would make sense, but I'm pretty sure it's incorrect, just so you know :)

I don't think it is sad. I've never seen The Mummy Returns, but I think it is cool that you remember one specific Egyptian word. :)
