I was talking to my gym teacher today and discovered she has a little girl named Sada (prn. SAY-duh---sort of like Zayda but with an "s" sound at the beginning)

I thought it was sort of pretty, but I honestly can decide what I think of it. It's certainly unique. Sada has a brother named Seth--I think the two names work well in a sib set.

WDYT?

when i see this name, i have the same reaction as i did when i first say the name 'kedzy'
i think it looks very cute, and unique.
and then when you say it, it kind of sounds odd.

except its better than kedzy, haha

You make a good point. When you say it, it sounds a little awkward and stressed. I almost thought my teacher said Sadie when she first told me her daughter's name...I definitely think Sadie or Zayda flow better. Sada's a little hard to say...

My reaction exactly. It looks cute on paper, and then it sounds rather awkward to say aloud. I think I prefer Zayda.

i definatly think i prefer zayda as well.
and i think 'sada' would be one of those names people have trouble saying or spelling.

I think it would be better if it were spelt Saida. I keep wanting to say SAW-duh when I see Sada

I don't like the way it looks because it looks like "sad" - but I like the way it sounds and I think Seth and Sada is cute.

I think Sada and Seth go well in a sibset, but I would never use Sada because 'sad' is in it. Maybe I would spell it Sayda or something to make it easier to pronounce and avoid the 'sad' part. I think I like the name alright, though, and I love Seth.

I like it. But I think it would be best spelled Sayda. Sada has too many possible pronounciations.

I like it! I think its pretty and unique without being too weird. Its similar to Sidda which I like a lot. I looked it up...

http://babynamesworl...ng_of_Sada.html

...and apparently its an American name (I guess that means made up) but its been around since before the 1880s.

Similar names...Sita (F-Sanskrit), Zayd (M-Arabic), Sade (F-African prn. shaw DAY), Saaydah (M-Hebrew), Saada (F-Swahili/Hebrew), Sadie/Zadie, Saida (F-Swahili)

Thanks, Katie.

I'm really starting to like the name--I think I like it spelt Saida, though--what do you guys think of that spelling? And you know me, once I start liking a name, I need some good middle name suggestions! Any good ideas? I was thinking Saida Rose or Saida Marie, but those are both really predictable...

Ohhhh! I love Saida Rose!

I'm loving it too :P Maybe it would be okay to use a very common middle name with it because Saida already has sort of exotic sound to it. A name like Grace/Rose/Marie would balance it, I think...

Zayda Yasmine Rose works, but not as well as Yasmine Zayda Rose...
