I love the sound of Ariah (think Mariah without the "m") but I don't like the "h" at the end. Would it be okay to drop it even though it would be the exact same as Aria (AHR-ee-a) or not?
I don't want to butcher a preexisting name but I don't want to drop one of the few girl names I like because of spelling.

I think it's a neat name. I do believe that you would have some pronunciation issues since it does look like another variation of Aria - making me believe that people will pronounce it as Aria. I like the name though, interesting. :)

I think people will end up miss pronouncing it, but it's a pretty sweet name

I think Aria is strictly AH-ree-ah. However, I think Arya could be ah-RYE-uh! WDYT? Cause I definitely think Ariah is a little less attractive.. just looks like Aria with a random H at the end tbh. But I'd imagine Arya to be be ah-RYE-uh, like the end of Mariah. I've had Arya as a GP for a while <3

Ariya could also work... but most of these suggestions are going to look like messy mispellings to fit the pronounciation.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the help.
I know Arya is a character in Game of Thrones so the connection makes me want to say it the way they do. Lol.
I really want to avoid the misspelling/mispronunciation since its a pet peeve of mine since people screw up my name. Maybe I'll toss it.
Any suggestions that are similar in feel?

Thanks!
I really like Gemma, Acadia, Mila, and Caia. Cassia is nice. I had been playing with Arcadia but I like Acadia much better.
Gemma is probably my favorite of the list but I cannot get Gemma from Sons of Anarchy out of my head. Plus my cousin getting ready to have a baby girl named Emma and I don't know if my family will think its too close.

There's also Lyra, Anya, Indira, Ayla, Tatiana, Calista, Ava, Fern, Keira, Isis...

I think from the ones you like, Gemma and Mila are my favourites.

I've been playing with Anja/Anya since Martin loves the nickname Annie. I might try to coax him into a convo about names since he's been in such a good mood maybe I'll get some good info out of him.

I've never seen/read whatever Game of Thrones is, but didn't know the association sorry! :P If you can't tell.. I'm really not up to date on modern entertainment. At least for the most part hehe <3

I loved Gemma and Mila from your liked list as well! And I loove Anya, but Mike last minute changed his mind on it <_< at first he loved it as it honors a woman he knows, next minute he decides it reminds him of a girl named Tanya who's apparently a terrible person. Idk. Wont pretend to get it lol. Oh boys

GL getting some info from him though!! Its so hard to get a list together without the other half's input :/ Mike normally doesn't mind talking names, but he's ill tonight. Poor boy.

Names were a no go tonight :( He was absorbed in the rat his sisters got him for Christmas. I am getting opinions on adoption, etc., which is really nice.
No problem Remy, its a TV show on HBO based off of a book series. I just know it because my dad is way into it.
The Gemma association wouldn't bug me because while the character it reminds me of is a conniving, arrogant S.O.B. she's one of the better characters of the show because of some other qualities she has. And my mom would never see past the TV character.
I might just mention Anya to Martin though. And tell Mike to feel better!
