I've had Rue on my GP list long before The Hunger Games, but its always seemed a bit unwearable/cutesy to me. With the popularity of The Hunger Games, I'm wondering if Rue is a bit more wearable. What do you think?

True has always seemed like the perfect solution. It still has the same sound and spunky-ness of Rue but the T makes the name a bit more substantial and wearable.

Do you think either name would age well?
What would be your first impression/thought upon meeting a new baby girl named Rue/True?

If you vote, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks!

Maybe it's because I've never seen / read The Hunger Games, but I voted for True. Rue can mean "to regret", so based on denotation, I chose True. True makes me think of truth and honesty, which are much more pleasant qualities in comparison to regret. Good luck!

Personally, I prefer Rue! But I think you should go with whichever one you can see sticking on your list for longer <_< I've been having this problem with June vs Juniper. Because June seems more wearable and like it'll age, but its just not got the same spunk as Juniper. And I always find myself going back to Juniper. Even if June seems more wearable... You want to chose whichever one you can truly see staying on the list and the one you really love!

I think both would age about the same, tbh. I think the spelling for Rue definitely makes it age much much better than Roo would. But both True and Rue just sound youthful to me. Which isn't necessarily bad, all older people like to feel youthful lol. I can most definitely picture it on an older person, like Grandma Rue. So CUTE! But I also think every person kind of makes a name more wearable. Like, as she grows, she will make the name work I suppose. And people that know her will automatically associate it with her and her age, really.

My first impression: cutesy <_<

Sorry I'm rambling here!!! I just started typing and my fingers got carried away!!

I personally LOVE Rue. Even though I like it a lot because of Hunger Games, it's becoming a favorite of mine.

Although, I agree with Remy...both would age well in my opinion. I think that if I were to ever meet a little girl named Rue, that it would sound adorable and again agreeing with Remy on this one: it wouldn't sound bad on an older person either. I actually think Rue has potential to age a bit better than True in the long run.

As much as I love Rue, I think True wins out for me. I prefer True as a first name and Rue as a middle name. <_<

Do you think either name would age well? I think True would age better personally. They're both cute, but Rue does make me think of Roo from "Whinny the Pooh" which makes me think of a little kid, rather than a grown woman. I can imagine a 40 year old name True, but Rue.. less I think.
What would be your first impression/thought upon meeting a new baby girl named Rue/True? Personally, I'd love it! It's a beautiful name! I would think her parents had great taste in names!
