I am getting ready to have my first child, a boy, and am having a hard time settling on a name. I have read seemingly every list on every baby name sight or link on google. Most of them I just don't like, either they're too common or too odd. I am fond of the name Kai but I'm not fond of single syllable names. So I thought it might work if I added something to the end of Kai.. Maybe Kaisen?? Pronounced KIE-sen. I just don't know if it sounds stupid or not. I've said it over and over so much that I both love it and hate it. The middle name is most likely going to be James. Kaisen James has a decent ring to it but I'm just not sure on how Kaisen will go with other people. I don't want the kid to have a hard time with his name growing up. Mispronounciation and teasing are probably bound to happen but I don't want to set the little guy up. Lol (I have thought about this WAY too much)
So what do you all think? I need some outsider advice/input. I'm open to new name suggestions as well! Something strong and masculine. I have given the names Emerson, Finnley, Hudson and Paxton a slight thought as well. I just keep circling back to that 'K-A-I'

Kaisen i would pron. as KAY son rather than KAI son. Have you considered Malakai nn Kai? Or maybe Kailer? Like Tyler with a K. Makai would be another full name option. Good luck.

I recommend Kaiser, the Germanic form of Caesar.

Kyson is an alternate spelling that still has the "Kai" sound. I think people will have better luck getting it right on the first try!

Kyson James is handsome!

I like it. I wasn't at all confused with the spelling and pronunciation.

Like Katie said, when I saw Kaisen, I thought it was pronounced KAY-sen. I like the sound of Kaisen, but I agree that spelling and pronunciation might be a problem. You might try using another spelling, such as Kysen, or use a name that has the nickname Kai, such as:

Malachi

Kaiser

Kyle

Mordecai

Kyler

Good luck!
