I like the name Dashiell a lot. However, I like the pronunciation dah-sheel, not dash-ull. Technically, dah-sheel is the correct spelling, and dash-ull is the Americanized version...
What do you prefer?

I am glad people you know pronounce it dah-sheel. There is a woman at my day care who calls her son dash-ull, which sucks haha. Dash is such a cute nickname.

I've never really known or heard of anyone with this name but I always thought it was Dash-ull, but that could be the American in me

Katie's got me hooked on this new name blog site, and I found this about Dashiell...

Personally, I really like the name. I think it would be very handsome on a little boy, and it's got a great nickname in Dash.

Here in Australia, im pretty sure we [or at least I would] pronounce it like, dah-sheel... but then again different Countries tend to pronounce names differently to others.. so therefore with an Aussie accent im most likely saying the name wrong, and therefore cant be of much help.

Hmmm, I say it like Dash-ee-ell, so I am completely different. I emphasise each syllable separately.
