I'm looking for a name for our second child. We like Biblical names, or ones that have a strong or significant (preferably spiritual) meaning. our first son is Gideon Lee. If we have a boy we like Gabriel, Nathaniel or Judah. But we are stumped on girls names!!! Help!

Hosanna, Charity, Abigail or Eden would go well with your selections for boys.

Abia Rebecca is really cute. Abia is the Greek form of the name Abijah, which means "worshipper of God". It was a common old Testament name, including the daughter of Zechariah. It was also often used as a man's name, as in the second son of Samuel. If your daughter grows up to not enjoy her given name, she could switch to Rebecca instead. Rebecca is a Hebrew name meaning "to tie," or "bind." A secondary meaning is "beautiful" or "desirable." In the bible, Rebecca is the wife of Isaac and the mother of Jacob.

Naomi Kezia is also adorable. The meaning of the name Naomi is "beautiful, pleasant, delightful." Naomi is portrayed as the mother-in-law of Ruth in the bible. Kezia means "powdered, fragrant bark, like cinammon." Kezia was the second daughter of Job in the bible. The child can easily decide between the two names here, too.

Hope that helps!

I totally understand your dilema, I'm not particularly fond of female biblical names but there is so much power in a name that its important to name your child filled with meaning. My husband doesn't like these names but if he did we would be using them for our little girl. I like

Alethea Grace ----Alethea means truth. Truth and grace go together and it is both a unique and old world name.

or Aurora Joy ----Aurora means of or pertaining to the dawn and when we live in Christ Joy always comes in the morning through Him.
