So, I have loved the names Ethan and Amelia... but not sure if they are to popular. I don't want them to be like Ethan 'S' in school... you know?
I'm thinking of Ethan John Sinatra. (John for deceased brother of my fiance)
And
Amelia Mae Sinatra. (Mia for short).
And thoughts/suggestions?
Thanks,
Candace

I don't think you should worry about the popularity of the names if you like them. I love both Ethan and Amelia and the MN's you have chosen go very well. Mia Mae would be an adorable nicname.
Good luck.

I have to say, my 7-year-old brother actually has been "Ethan S." at two different schools, although not in the same class as another Ethan, and Ethan is actually more popular this year than the year he was born. I am always hearing someone yell "Ethan!" at the playground--and not for the kid I'm with.
That said, it is a nice, traditional name (not a trendy name that will seem popular AND dated in ten or twenty years) so if you love it, go for it.
Amelia is the name of the younger sibling of a girl in Ethan's class--other than that, I haven't heard it around too much.

I only know one baby Ethan and two Amelia's.
I think you run the risk of having your child be one of many {_____ Surname Initial.} no matter what name you choose, unless you pretty much make it up.
It's all relative {where you live etc}.
If you love a name, use it. You don't want to regret using a name you love just because you thought it was too popular.
