Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum and this site in general, so I hope I'm not violating any rules with this post.

This year I plan on entering NaNoWriMo. I've outlined my plot, made a cover and named my characters - all I need now is some opinions on the names I chose. Would you guys help me out and tell me what you think of my names? I'd love if you could tell me what impression each name gives you, but there are a lot so I understand if you can't do that. Even if you could do one or two, though, that would really help me out.

Alright, here's the list (in alphabetical order according to the FIRST name, cos I'm cool like that.) Girls names are pink, boys are blue. I included their ages to help you out a bit:

Connor Boyd - 17
Finn Montgomery - 15
Freya Pearson - 16
Gwyn Cunningham - 16

If you could just tell me what kind of impression of the character you get from the name, it would be a HUGE help. Thanks in advance (I really hope people reply to this now ).

alright, I see what I can do
First, I had to google NaNoWriMo. I had no idea what it was!

Mmh, I hope I kinda get it right! I guess they are first and last names.

Asa Watson - 14
Connor Boyd - 17 ... This name sounds like a popular guy, smart and sporty-> an allrounder I guess.
Finn Montgomery - 15
Freya Pearson - 16 ... Mmh, she is a shy girl, no one doesn't really see her.
Gwyn Cunningham - 16 ... She seems to be a spoiled 'princess'.
Hayden Romero - 17 ... I think he is the pretty guy.
Meredith Fox - 18
Micah Webster - 19
Olive Sutton - 12 ... since she is the youngest, I think she might have been a tomboy but kinda starting to see the older girls and trying to be more like them.
Rocky Holmes - 15 ... sounds like he is the wildest kid, maybe a bit of a rebell.
Scarlett Day - 17
Sophie Webster - 13 ... I think, the name sounds like an artsy girl who has no idea what she can do, she is still trying to figure it out. (The name somehow sounded familiar, but I had a different person in mind, but google still gave me suggestions: Sophie Webster is a character's name of a British soap operah. So maybe change it?)
Violet Hart - 14 ... sounds like she is the sweatheart, always smiling, always nice and helpfull, and always knows the answer -> so I guess she is the smart kid.
Xander Lawson - 16

Sorry, I couldn't imagine a character behind each name, it is late where I live.
I don't think that Watson and Holmes in one story is a great idea, as long as your story isn't related to Sherlock Holmes.

You have some WEIRD taste. Look, i've been writing stories since I was six and all i can say is, pick what you like, what doesn't sound like a little kid and/or old lady at a tea party (my name is Elizabeth Rose and until i was 14 i went by Lizzy. I HATE my full name ), and what matches their personality and the mood of the story (if you're new to the writing world you will not know what I'm talking about, but after awhile, you will start to develop what I call "writer's intuition.") Also, if you would not give your kid that name, don't give your character that name.
