I really like the name Micah, i liked it more for a boy. My husband and i just recently found out that we are getting a little girl. And he absolutely loves it for a girl. I'm not sure about it and i could begin to think what middle names would go with it.... some 2nd 3rd and 4th opinions would be very helpful....and maybe some middle names as well

Thanks!! :D

It's okay for a boy, but it is definitely NOT a girl name in my opinion.

How about using:
Maya
Michaela

These names are far more feminine, but also have a similar sound if that what you're looking for

The only Micah I ever knew was female, so its a girl name in my opinion. I like it.

  • Interests:I LOVE reading. I'm into almost every genre and generally read a book a week, if possible. I like Iris Johansen, Karen Marie Moning, Stephen King, James Patterson, Jane Austen, Charlotte Brontë, Diana Gabaldon, Kathy Reichs, and Robert Burns (every Scot's favorite author). I really love music and even got accepted to the Mason Gross School of Performing Arts at Rutgers University (my alma mater) for vocal performance. Unfortunately performance life was not for me, so I went into English Lit and French instead. Music is still a big part of my life, and I like a multitude of musical genres from Reggae to Rock to Opera. I've seen Carmen and La bohème each twice. (And I cry every time.) My husband and I also have a special place in our hearts for The Beatles.

Definitely a boy's name. I mean it was the name of an Old Testament prophet for goodness sakes! If you want something similar for a girl, use Michaela.

There are many names I can't stand on girls, but this surprisingly isn't one of them. I suppose itcould work, but definitely explore your options... Michaela is a nice suggestion.. I also think Mischa would be okay, even though it's originally a boy's name, I think Mischa Barton might bring some feminine influence to the name..

I loved Micah for a boy but it faded fast... & then I met a girl named Micah & I thought it was deff different for a girl you could use it. But I personally wouldn't use it for a girl name. Maybe if it was a bit more feminine? Like Finley/Finlay is cute for a girl even tho it's typically a boys name. You could do

Michelle/Michele
Mia
Mya
Maya
May/Mae

I don't like Finley or Micah.

Micah is a boy name, many people think that every name that ends in a (a or a y) are unisex. They are not. It's true that many names that end in -a are feminine but this is not one of those.

Keep Micah as a boy and find a new girl name

I'm a huge fan of boy names on girls. Micah is pretty and very commonly used for girls.

One of my best guy friend's is named Micah and it's ALL BOY! Not only for that reason, it's just one of those names that is not meant to be feminized.

i know a girl named micah, & i like it.
i actually think it sounds better on a girl then a boy because of the 'a' ending.

I don't like it.
It's a bit too masculine for me.
