My husband and I are having trouble agreeing on a middle name for Theodore.  He would like to use "Carl" for sentimental reasons.  I don't like this for several reasons.  I also don't like middle names that would make it difficult to say our last name, "Schmidt".

 

Here are my top choices so far:

1.  Theodore Robert Schmidt

2.  Theodore Brian Schmidt

 

Thoughts?

If Carl is special, why not use it or a variant?

Theodore Charles Schmidt (Carl is a variant of Charles)
Theodore Carlton Schmidt
Theodore Carlisle Schmidt
Theodore Carlo Schmidt
Theodore Carlen Schmidt
Theodore Carlson Schmidt
Theodore Kale Schmidt (Hawaiian form of Carl)
Theodore Carlos Schmidt

If you still don't like any of those, my favorite from your list is #1. (Both are very boring and dated IMO though)
