Do you have a unique name? Or have you chosen one for your child? If so what is it and how do you feel about unique names?

My name- Victoria- isn't very unique, but I was in college before I met anyone else my age that shared my name. There were a few other girls I met named Victoria, and we'd all had the same experience: thinking our was a "weird, old-lady name," for most of our lives until that point. Funny thing is, none of us went by nicknames like Vicki or Tori, we were all Victoria.

As far as my feelings on unique names go, I like names that are uncommon, but generally not too out there.

I have a very common name, Amanda and I hate it.  I was always Amanda M at school so I'd like to give my children somewhat unusual names.  I plan on naming my first daughter Lilia/Lilija Genevieve.

I like unusual and unique names, but nothing that's too crazy or made up.  No creative spellings either.

I heard recently of a little girl named Cezyn (like season), very different name and a creative spelling.

My name is so common, Alex. I was always Alex M. and it was always another boy in my class named Alex. I had always wished my mom had named me something like Natalya/Natalia
