Hey, everybody! My brother and his wife have narrowed it down to two names for their son:

Gallagher & Roane

There's a whole lot of questions, so feel free to pick and choose what you feel like answering!
1. What are your opinions on the names? (you can be honest. I'm not a big fan of either, tbh, they're super surname-y)
2. Which would you choose of the two?
3. What are some middle name ideas?
4. How would you pronounce Roane? We/They pronounce it as rone, rhyming with Phone, Loan, Moan, etc, but Nameberry lists it as an alternate spelling for Rowan...I've never heard anyone say it Rowan, and they don't like that pronunciation. They like the name Rowan, but if they wanted that name they'd spell it the regular way...
4b. What spelling would you choose for the name? Roane, Rone, Roan, etc?

EDIT: I should add that both surnames do honor people, they aren't just random

They both sound like last names in my honest opinion.

I'd pronounce it like Rone, but if it is pronounced Rowan, then that would be my pick!

I prefer Roane, but Rowan looks more masculine.
Not a fan of Gallagher.

Personally, I prefer shorter names. Long 3+ syllable names like Gallager would need to have a great nickname for me to use them and I can't think of any great nicknames for Gallager...Roane would therefore be my pick.

At first glance, I would pronounce Roane like Rowan. Roan could also be pron. like Rowan but I would more likely pron. it as ROHN since I think of a roan horse first. However, if the Roane spelling has family significance, I wouldn't change it. He may have to correct people quite often but it isn't that unusual.

They could always go with both...Roane Gallager would make a nice combo.

I like Roane. To rhyme with phone. I think Roane Gallagher is nice:)

I like Roane best, it feels less surnamey then Gallagher. I'd pronounce the way they are, it rhymes with Sloane, and it makes sense to me. I agree with previous posters, Roane Gallagher is very handsome.

I'm not too keen on either, but he won't get someone with the same name as him at school! I'd choose Roane out of the two. Roane Wade might be nice. I'd pronounce Roane as Row-n. I'd spell it Roan. GL!

I like Roane but wouldn't spell it that way... He could get called Ro-anne.... Maybe just Roan or Rone.

I am not a fan of Gallagher

Because the name is so short and different I would go with a longer and maybe more common middle name.

Roan Christopher or something.

To be honest I kinda like Roan Gallagher just not Gallagher as a first name
