So I'm falling in love with August again, especially with the nicknames Auggie and Gus. I had August Ryan and Henry August on my list awhile ago. However Martin doesn't like it. He says it's too feminine for a boy and too masculine for a girl. So BNG, what's your opinion?

Mmm, its not my style but each to their own!

I think it sounds very strong & manly and the nickname Gus would probably compliment it best. I mean, Auggie is cute for whilst he is younger but can you imagine calling your 20 year old son 'Auggie'?

August Ryan is nice but I see where Martin is coming from, with both names being unisex! :(
Henry August is sweet.

Of course I would prefer August as a middle name, but at the end of the day its up to you!! Thats just my irrelevant opinion. :)
Would you like some more middle name suggestions? :)

Thanks Ash, and yes please.
And yeah, by the time he's 20 I probably wouldn't be calling him Auggie. It still throws me off that Ryan is unisex even though I know a Ryanne.

I'm a big fan of August.

Henry August is lovely, it reminds me of "Once Upon a Time". There's a Henry and an August, so I think that's why! It's a great combo, though!

I love it both as a first or middle name but think it works very well as a mn.

I had August on my list for a while. I've loved it since the movie August Rush came out. I think August nn Auggie is adorable although I prefer it in the middle name spot. A friend of mine has an almost 2 year old named August Jude, but he goes by Jude.

Lately I've been leaning more toward Augustine (ah guh STEEN) as a middle name for a girl and Augustus as a middle for a boy.

It's a bit of a GP of mine. I probably never actually would use it, but I still really like it. I think my only problem is, it is a tad old fashioned.

Here are some MN suggestions:

Jeremiah
Kyle
Lawrence
Vance
Xavier
Rowan
Henry
Harris
Everrett
Evan
Carson
Ellery
