The name Aevyn? (Aye vin)

I hope I'm getting the sounding across. This name just came to me one day as I was driving, and it's kinda stuck.

SO, WDYT?

Girly, Boyish, or Neither?

I actually love it!! Defiantly on a boy! Are you pronouncing it like Ivan or A-vin?

Aevyn Chase is the first thing that came to mind..... Though I'll do a longer list when I get on the laptop :)

I used to have Aevyn on my girls list and been considering adding it back :P

I had Aevyn Jude and Aevyn Lily on my list. But now that I think about it, it sounds pretty cute for a boy, but would probably need a very masculine middle name. I would spell it differently for a boy too, maybe Avin, Aevin, Aiven? The "yn" ending just looks a bit feminine to me personally. :)

Maybe...
Aiven James
Aiven Jude
Aiven Thomas
Aiven Chase (I agree that this is very handsome!)
Aiven Charles
Aiven Gray
Aiven Christopher
Aiven Matthew
Aiven Baiven
Aiven Robert
Aiven Joseph
Aiven Chandler
Aiven Silas
Aiven Josiah
Ayven Drake
Ayven Drew
Ayven Lucas
Ayven Joel
Ayven Wesley

I am pronouncing it like Ivan but A-vin.

I'm glad people don't think its too weird. =P I love Aveyn for both a girl and a boy, but i'm leaning more towards girl. I agree that it would need a very masculine middle name if it was used for a boy. Thank you for your suggestions!

I actually kinda knew someone with that name! I dated a girl who babysat a boy named Aavin/Aiven (cant remember which it was). Danielle (my ex) was super close to this lady and Aaven/Aiven so I was pretty familiar with them. So when you mention the name.. I think all boy! Almost like -Aiden really. I'd definitely spell it more like the above though, to make it look less exotic and more familiar :)

I was just about the suggest Ivan, when you said you're prn. it "Ay-vin".

Like a mix of Ava and Aiden.

Does remind me of "Avon" or "Avis", though.

Not a fan, personally, but to each his own.

I don't particularly like the look of Aveyn. What about Aiven or Aven?

It sounds very made up to me and I don't like made up names. I just feel it's asking for trouble, because nobody would know how to spell or pronounce the name and you'd always have to spell it out for people.

It sounds more like a girls name to me. And the "yn" part is quite feminine.
