Hey all! I made a poll earlier but was hoping for more feedback. My husband and I really want to name our daughter, Elliot! I’m a minister at a church and when we started telling people the name, many began to call her Ellie. We both like the name Ellie, but we really want her to go by Elliot.

We’re stuck on middle names. We really like Elliot Kate. We’re open to suggestions, but because I’m a minister we want to stay away from mn like Joy, Faith, Grace, etc. We don’t want her name to reflect that she’s a PK (preacher’s kid.)

Elliot Kate -My Great-Grandmother's name was Katie

Elliot Katherine- My Great-Grandmother's name was Katie

Elliot Ruth- We're afraid this is too biblical still.

Elliot Marie- It's a traditionin my family to give your first daughter this middle name, it's mine. But I've never felt compelled to continue the tradition.

Elliot Elaine

Elliot Claire

Elliot Elizabeth

Elliot Jade

We like a lot of combos like Elliot Morgan, Elliot Riley, etc. But we're trying to stay away from unisex middle names.

Elliot is 100% a boys name. Seriously think about your child's future and what they are going to think having a boys name?

Elliot Ruth is lovely! Would you consider a double middle name, just to up the femininity?

Elliot Clarissa would be lovely.  You need a girly name to balance out Elliot.  Also, Elliot is such a sweet name.  Congrats and good luck!!!  :)

Hey gang, this is Anna, the original poster! Thanks for all your great feedback! We're starting to realize people will call her El, or Ellie, and we're okay with that. We'll just use Elliot more often that not.

Addison, we had never considered a double middle name, but I love several of your suggestions.

Here's what we can both agree on:

Elliot Marie

Elliot Kate- We really love the idea of calling her Ellie-Kate on occasion.

Elliot Claire

Elliot Oliva- I think this flows funny, but I think it's pretty.

Elliot Paige

Elliot Ruth- I like this, but I'm afriaid it makes her sound 90. Thoughts?

Doubles:

Elliot Elaine Marie

Elliot Katie-Marie

We're open to more doubles!

I really like the idea of a double middle name paired with Marie. That way I can continue the tradition but still give Elliot her own name and identity. Can you give me more suggestions for double middle names paired with Marie? Thanks for all your help!

I really love the name Elliot on a girl! I know one poster said it's a boy name, but I know several girl Elliots in my area. I think it's a great choice! I'm also a pastor, so I understand wanting to stay away from typical PK names!

Here are my middle name suggestions:

Meredith

Anne

Elise

Lucille

Avery

Nicole

Aurora

Anslee

Jane

Rose

Sophia

Can I add something - imagine the name on a register at school, wouldn't your child's teacher think that that child is a HE? That child will have this problem for the rest of their lives. I have met people with boys names as a girl and they hate it. In fact one went as far as totally changing her name and yep it was orginally Elliot!

BTW ELLIOT GREY!!!

Wow! Thanks for all the great suggestions! Here's what we like! We tend to really like when an E name follows Elliot. Several of the options that didn't make the cut we liked better without the Marie at the end.

Elliot Evelyn Marie

Elliot Aurora Marie

Elliot Sophie Marie

Elliot Eve Marie

Elliot Taylor-Marie

Elliot Elizabeth-Marie

Elliot Katie-Marie

Elliot Anna-Marie- Maybe Anne instead of Anna?

Elliot Coralie Marie

Elliot Jade Marie- What about Jane?

Elliot Gwendolen Marie

Elliot Isabel Marie

Elliot Genevieve Marie

Elliot Ava Marie

Elliot Lila Marie

Elliot Annemarie Kate (honors you and grandma, as well as holding to tradition of using Marie)- we actually tossed this around last night!

We still really love Elliot Kate. We also discussed Elliot Katherine. Thoughts? Thanks again for all your help!

Elloit Katerie (a blend of Kate and Marie)

My brother blended Kaye from our Mother and Adria from his wife's sister to form Kaydria for his daughter's middle name.

maybe it sounds too much like catering. .

I also liked Elliot Evelyn Marie

Good luck in your decision.

I love the sound of Elliot Rose, rose gives the name a feminine touch.
