My husband's grandmother Judith recently passed away. Wonderful lady who we both loved dearly. Her name was Judith Karen. We love the idea of honoring her by naming baby #3, a girl due in March, Judith; However, my husband wants to call her Jude. I love the name Quinn and would have that as the middle name but call her by it because I feel Judith Quinn flows better than Quinn Judith. I work in a school and have a few Judes, all boys. I've never had a Quinn. My husband agrees to Quinn as a middle name, but does not want to call her that. We have 2 sons, Sawyer Mar (I picked) and Sullivan "Sully" Max (his pick). I say my pick and his pick but really I came up with Sawyer and he loved it and he came up with Sullivan and I loved it. Help. We CANNOT agree.

I get the honouring her! but just having the name in her name is an honour itself you could still have Judith in the name as a middle and use Jude as a middle or Judy...   But  i 'am seeing an 'S' theme from the boys names ..

Have you thought Of Serenity or Seren Judith?  can call her Jude as a nickname then?
I would say Jude is more of a boy name myself...
Some diminutives of Judith are Jodie/Jodi/Jody/Jodey and also Judie/Judy < all useable for a girl though.

Other 'S' names to go with your theme are:
Sable Sacha Sadie Saffira Saffron Safiyya Sahara Sailor Sakura Samira Saoirse Saskia Satyana Savannah Schuyler Scout Sebastiane Seeley Sefarina Sephora  Shania Sharlene Shelby Sheridan Shiloh Shyanne Sidney Sidonie Sienna Sierra Simone Skylynn Sloane Soraya Spencer Sutton

Possible combos:
Sadie Judith or Sadie Quinn Judith
Sakura Judith
Samira Judith
Saoirse Judith Quinn
Saskia Judith Quinn
Schuyler Judith Quinn
Sebastiane Judith Quinn could call her Judi or Tiana
Sephora Judith Quinn
Shania Judith
Sharlene Judith Quinn
Shelby Judith
Sheridan Judith
Shiloh Judith Quinn
Shyanne Judith
Sidney Judith
Sidonie Judith
Sienna Judith
Sienna or Sierra Judith
Simone/Symone Judith Quinn
Sloane Judith
Soraya Judith
Spencer Judith
Sutton Judith Quinn

Hope that helps xxx

I like Quinn Judith better than Judith Quinn, actually! But as for other suggestions, I agree that S names would be a good idea. I think you should consider Sutton, Sage, Savannah, Sable, Scarlett, Skylar, Shiloh, Salem, etc.  But Quinn Judith is also very nice, I think QJ makes a cute around the house nickname.

I like Quinn Judith, especially, with the potential nickname(s). I see Jude as unisex because, in my opinion, it wears well on both genders only as a nickname for Judah and Judith, of course! But, I also agree you should at least consider a s name, so she doesnt feel left out. Sasha Quinn / Judith, Stella Quinn / Judith, Stacy Quinn / Judith, Samantha Quinn / Judith, Samara Quinn / Judith, Sara(h) Quinn / Judith, Sutton Quinn / Judith, Sabrina Quinn / Judith, Sailor Quinn / Judith, Seraphina Quinn / Judith, Serena Quinn / Judith, Sheena Quinn / Judith, Shawna / Seana Quinn / Judith, Simone Quinn / Judith, Sylvia / Silvia Quinn / Judith, Skye Quinn / Judith, Summer Quinn / Judith, Susanna / Susannah Quinn / Judith, Sophia Quinn / Judith, Sloane Quinn / Judith, Siobhan Quinn / Judith, Seren Quinn / Judith, Sinead Quinn / Judith, Sydney Quinn / Judith, Sian (Welsh girls name, whose pronunciation is similar to Sean) Quinn / Judith

I actually prefer Quinn Judith to Judith Quinn. :) In my opinion, it's a fair compromise for you to use Judith to honor (includes his input) but to not want to call her by that.

Thanks for the input. We are planning to have more children and don't want to be tied down to S names. Plus, having a name we love is much more important than finding a name that starts with S. Our 1st 2 names were just names we loved and they both just happened to start with S. Our boys do have one syllable middle names so I guess maybe that is why I like Quinn in the middle. We are continuing our debate. I don't want to force my husband into Quinn, but I do feel that I'm already doing my part by agreeing to Judith. I should mention we had agreed on a name prior to knowing the gender, but after finding out, it just didn't feel quite right. I started searching again and he suggested Judith which I really couldn't say no to. Our first name was Milo Sky. Sky is my sister, who is also my best friend and godmother of my children. I guess I opened a can of worms by changing my mind, but it just didn't give me the feels.

I know that its been a little while since this was posted but I'd like to open up the idea that your daughter could have multiple nicknames if you're open to that. Your husband calls her Jude you call her Quinn your boys may come up with something completely on their own, let members of your extended family choose between Jude and Quinn as well, her name is Judith Quinn so either nickname is going to be right. When she's older she'll decide how she wants to really be introduced to the world if she prefers Jude the she'll go to school as Jude and Quinn can just be a special name you and a few members of the family use or it could be the other way around.

Also I personally really like Judith Quinn in that order and I know  a Judith who goes equally by Judy and Jude so it doesn't seem so completely taken over by the boys to me.

I agree with Holloway. My husband and I each have different nicknames we use for our children at times. She will probably show preference before you know it. However, it is probably best to come up with how you will introduce her to others. I love Judith Quinn. It flows well and is beautiful! If you really want me to vote between the two options, I would go with Quinn.

I agree with Judith Quinn, and that Jude is more of a boy's name. What I suggest is that you name her Judith Quinn, and your husband can call her Jude as a nickname.
