Hey! I'm doing a piece on a bunch of teens who flee their brutal punishments and live a year on the run, searching for a refugee camp. I have the names, at least the first ones, and I was hoping you could give me some name critiques and maybe some last names? Thanks :)

Ezra- SHE is the main character, it's told from her point of view. dark hair and blue eyes, petite but incredibly strong, not to mention strong-willed. She comes from a huge family in the religious district, her seven other brothers and sisters all have biblical names that probably won't change, just because they really aren't that important. The brother that has assumed the fatherly role is Judah, and the mothering sisters are Bethlehem (Beth) and Sheba. (her parents were given the death penalty a few years before the book begins)

Ivo- one of Ezra's two closest friends, when she was younger, but they had a falling out and never spoke again, until they went on the run together. They have a very sibling like relationship, and they tend to annoy one another, although beneath the anger they DO care about each other. He has light brown hair, freckles, and grey eyes. He's plain looking, but golden hearted. ivo is said like Eye-Voh. I wanted something short and unique, but I'm not sure it has the right ring to it.

Orin- the third member of Ezra's and Ivo's friends group, when they were younger. He is the quietest, although not shy, he simply prefers to listen rather than speak. But hen he does get angry, he can be terrifying, and as the characters were not on the greatest terms when they left home, they have an uneasy tendency to really set each other off. He works under the premise of hating the others, although the only one who returns the favor is Ezra. He is very Tarkington, tall, and muscular.

Azalea- the youngest of the group, she "reeks of purity" as Ezra says, with blonde hair, green eyes, a slender figure, uncalloused hands, and a wide smile. She was never friends with the others, but actually was the one who helped them escape, and is ale always under serious distress that the three friends fight constantly.

If you have made it this far through reading... thank you for bothering to even read it! I know it was long. If you have any name-help, I would be thrilled to hear it!

I see you tend to like vowel names.

I really like the names you have. The only problem that may confuse people is that your characters have similar sounding names. Ezra & Azalea both begin with the EZ sound and end with an A, though Azelea has a YA sound. They may be different enough that the reader won't confuse them, but some readers might. I wrote a story one time with a James & a Jeremy (father and son) and a few people who read it said they kept confusing the two.

I really like Orin.

Some other suggestions for Ivo (since you're not sure)

Lem
Kew (Q)
Bodie (BOW dee not Body)
Sayr
Gruff ?
Mohr (MORE)
Forth (like first, second, third...I actually read about a real person with this name back in the 1600s)
Joss

Hmm, maybe Azalea could be Avalon or even Avonlea (ah-ven-lee), just to make sure people don't get confused

I like Ivo's name, actually :D Maybe even Ivon/Iver/Ivan/Iveren, if that helps! Or....

~ Natten
~ Toren
~ Adeck
~ Noriss
~ Oatem (oh-at-em)

Maybe these help? Sorry, I'm not good at coming up with these sorts of names D:
