I recently just got a new baby cousin, and my aunt picked the name Avery for her because she likes Avery from 30 Rock.

So it got me thinking, are there any names you like from book/movie/tv shows that you would consider naming your children? Are there names you specifically like because of a character you've grown to love?

Here are mine:

Girls:
Meredith (Grey's Anatomy)
Addison (Grey's Anatomy)
Claire (LOST)
Penelope nn Penny (LOST)
Juliet (LOST)
Emma (Glee)
Rose (Saffy's Angel by Hilary McKay)

Boys:
Owen (Grey's Anatomy)
Desmond (LOST)
Sawyer (LOST)
Finn (Glee)

Unisex:
Wren (Pretty Little Liars)

I really like Edmund from The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe but it is too close to Edward from Twilight for me to use.

When I was younger I loved the name Audrina from the book My Sweet Audrina.

One of my brothers is actually named Christopher Robin, he's not so thrilled about it but I think it's cute.

Kiara (The Lion King 2)
Claire (Lost)
Dean (Supernatural)
Noah (The Notebook)
Landon (A Walk To Remember)
Nora (Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick)
Jasper (Twilight)

Um....and there's lots of others I like too.

And some I would actually consider using. =)

I liked the name Whit (from the movie Baby Geniuses) for the longest time. I can't think of anything else.

I don't think I'd actually name a kiddo after a book/tv series/movie... but there are certainly names on my list from them!

Alaska (Alaska Young, Looking for Alaska)
Miles (nn "Pudge" , Looking for Alaska)
Colin (An Abundance of Katherine's)
Roxy/Roxanne (Roxy Hart, Chicago; Roxanne Richie, Megamind)
Flynn (Flynn Ryder, Tangled! )

Uh, thats all I can think of at the moment... lol. But, the likelyhood of me ever using one of these names is so little! I have been thinking about Roxy, or Roxanne or something. But nahh.

I'm due to give birth in 6 weeks and we've narrowed it down to 2 names, one of those was inspired by Harry Potter.
There's a good chance this baby will be named Luna

I wouldn't name my child AFTER the character like I am paying homage to the character or actor or whatever, but if I read a book/watch a tv show or movie and come across a name I fall in love with I will definitely consider it. If that makes sense.

Supernatural
Dean
Jensen (actor's name)
Castiel

I always do this. I'd usually fall in love with a name because of the character! But it never really have it on my list too long.

Girls:
Spencer <3 (Pretty Little Liars)
Aria (Pretty Little Liars)
(Hannah is ironcally on my list but its a name I have always loved! <3)

Boys:

Emmett (Switched at birth)
Toby <33 (Pretty Little Liars)
Alek (The 9 lives of Chloe King)

I know.. I watch too much ABC family! ♥

I do this all the time, find myself in love with a name because of a character, and extend to the actors' names sometimes too. If I fell in love with the name, I wouldn't hesitate to use it, because to me it's not so much that I'd be naming them after the character as it is I never saw the name in a particular light until that character. If that makes sense. Though I would probably never mention the character association because I would feel slightly nerdy.

Two of the names in my top 10 right now (Willow and Tara) are Buffy characters. I like the actresses' names too (Amber and Alyson), but not enough to consider, having been born in the 90s where these are really popular. Lol, clearly I really liked those two.

Some others...

Boys:
Desmond (Lost)
Miles (Lost)
Simon (Firefly)
Malcolm (Firefly)
Jasper (Twilight)
Flynn (Tangled)

Girls:
Juliet (Lost)
Alice (Twilight)
Lily (Harry Potter)
Kiara (The Lion King)
Melinda (Ghost Whisperer)
Eliza (Annie on My Mind)

Oooh, this is a good topic! I like all the following names, although I wouldn't consider all of them.

Girls:
Bridget (Nellie's sister in Samantha An American Girl Holiday)
Chrissa (Chrissa Stands Strong--another American Girl movie)
Gwen (Chrissa Stands Stong)
Collins (The Blind Side)
Violet (Series of Unfortunate Events)

Boys:
Caleb (Fireproof and Saving Sarah Cain)
Elliott (E.T.)
Atticus (To Kill A Mockingbird--don't think I'd use it though)
Tyler (From Chrissa Stands Strong--again!)

Unisex:
Jess (Bridge to Terabithia)

That was fun! I would most likely use the following names from above: Bridget, Chrissa, Violet, Caleb and Tyler.
