Hi there! My husband and I are adopting a family member's baby this December, and the gender won't be revealed until birth. However we are having such a hard time thinking of names because of how picky we are. We already have two kids named Eira Elizabeth (Pronounced Ay-rah) and Sven Isaac. We are looking suggestions for a girl and a boy name. If it's a girl, her middle name will be either Lillian or Cadence and if it's a boy, his middle name will be either Broderick, Grey, or Soren. (All family names) Here is our criteria for first names:
  • Short names, no more than 5 letters
  • Uncommon: Not in the SSA top 1000 list
  • No "yooh'nique" spelling
  • Fairly easy to pronounce (Eira's name get's mispronounced ALL the time so we would like to avoid that this time)
  • Something that goes well with all ages. Picture a baby, a 30 year old businessman/businesswoman, and an old grandparent with the name
  • Doesn't sound too close to his/her siblings' names.
Any suggestions??

Opps and for a boy... I really like Zane and Zane Grey is a famous author so it's kinda perfect but Zane IS on the list at #224 so maybe too common. I will vote use Grey Soren as first and middle.

Thanks for the suggestions! Yes, Zane is too popular for my liking. I wanted to use Grey as a first name but my husband vetoed it. :(

I love the name Inga for girls, and Inga Lillian is beautiful. :) it matches the Scandanavian theme you have going.

There's also Odin for boys that matches the same theme.
