Last month I was totally in love with Emmeline, Alexandria and Theodore (and the like). But now I seem to be leaning much more towards the traditional classics like Anna, Grace and Jude, paired with more "old-fashioned" names like Maeve, Graham, Ophelia, Charles and Celeste.

I've come up with a few new combinations and I was wondering what you thought about them, since I know many of you here tend to like much more "unusual" classics.

I feel like in a week my style's completely changed, which for me is rather odd. I tend to drift slowly away from names, not zoom for the next ones!

I think I could say that my style is mostly "Unusual" classic, but there are some even more off the wall names mixed in as well.


I LOVE Anna but have never been able to pin point the perfect middle name...so welcome to my world. Anna Celeste and Anna Phoebe are my two favorites at the moment. I also LOVE Anna Cordelia. Anna Katherine is nice but since my name is Katherine Ann I figure it would be a bit too egocentristic for me to name a daughter that. I think Anna Sofia is a bit predictable & Anna Louise is a tiny bit boring. I do like Anna Maeve but its a bit short for my taste. Not a fan of Scarlett or Juliett but they both go nicely with Anna in the first name spot.

I have a soft spot for Grace, being its my neice's name. It is a very hard name to find a middle name for, but you have some great options. I really LOVE Grace Vivienne, Grace Violet & Grace Madeleine. Grace Julianne & Grace Caroline are just okay for me, I think the flow would sound better as Julianne Grace or Caroline Grace.

Lydia Margaret would be my choice of your combos.

For Norah, I like Norah Madeleine, Nora Vivienne & Norah Jane.

For Emily, I really like Emily Temperance, Emily Jane, & Emily Briar.



Jude seems to go well with just about anything. I LOVE Jude August, Jude Christopher, & Jude Oliver.

Max Gabriel is a great combo. I also like Max Oliver.

Noah Alexander & Noah Patrick are my faves from your list

Dean & Ross aren't really favorites of mine. But I think Dean Elliott & Ross Elliott are nice combos.

I think Wiley is growing on just about everyone You know that Wiley Christopher & Wiley Abram are two of my favorites. I think Wiley Thomas is adorable and I really like Wiley Nathaniel as well. I also like Wiley Alexander.

Silas Abram is perfect!!!!!! I also like Silas Benjamin.

Caleb Henry is my favorite from your list. I also like Caleb Nicolas.

As for Anna Sofia and Anna Louise, they're family names, so that's why I considered them.
One of mum's middle names is Louise, and since her name starts with An [And both her mother and my sister's names contain "an" in the middle] I thought it would be a nice way to incorporate their names in there, without it being obvious.
Sofia was my dad's grandmothers name that died just a few months before we were born [So I never met her, but I know she and my mum were close and she really wanted to meet us.. felt like a way to honour my dad's family in there too]!

You have awesome names though, no doubt about it! (;

I went into a phase like that. One day, I was SO wrapped up in names like Archer, Heath and Kayjon (Made this one up myself!). Then the next, for some reason, LOVED George, Roger, Henry and Howard.......

To me, Anna has always been meh. But that's because people I meet with the name are meh <3 it is pretty though! I like most of your combo's, especially
Anna Celeste and Anna Maeve. Though Annmarie is super cute! I kinda like Annamarie a bit better, but both are lovely <3 Annmarie Cordelia = gorgeous!!!

Grace does seem to be real hard to find a perfect middle name to, but it's such a lovely name! Grace Vivienne is really nice, as is Grace Julianne <3

Lydia has been off and on my list since forever! <3 I still can't decide if I love it or not lol. Lydia Rosalind is so pretty, though a little off flow :/ Lydia Charlotte and Lydia Hazel are sweet as well those. I am not very into filler names, but Lydia Rose was always my fav <3

Norah Madeleine is really pretty! For whatever reason, I think they fit so perfectly! <3 Norah and all the frilly French names seem to sound so precious together lol

Love Emily! <3 so gorgeous! I love all the middle names you said except Temperence. I especially like Emily Georgia, Emily Briar, Emily Victoire.. or basically all of them haha!

Juliana Maeve is pretty, though Juliana Dahlia would be so pretty! Or Dahlia Juliana!

Ivy Lucille is precious! Love!

Eliza Caroline is absolutely beautiful! Love love love!

I like Lois, it sounds really nice. I wouldn't use it, but it sounds nice. Lois Jacqueline?

Eve is beautiful! I adore Evie myself, but Eve is nice. Eve Sophia or Eve Scarlett would be sooo beautiful!

Holly isn't my style but it's nice <3 Holly Nicole or Holly Nicolette (from Ash's list haha!)

Dahlia is so pretty! I like Tahlia a lot myself, but because of a cutie I met from my friend haha! <3 such a beautiful name!

Fiona is okay, I like the fi sound, like in Phoebe, but not the other half lol! Fiona Meridith sounds good together!

I have always adored Kate!!! I mean, I always seem to fallback to Katherine nick name Kate, being I can't seem to find a perfect flowing name to go with Kate, but oh well. Maybe Kate Saoirse...

Sophia is gorgeous! Too popular, but gorgeous! Sophia Natalie is my fav. But I saw Sophia Colette somewhere *cough cough chuckle chuckle* and thought it was cute!

Sara is nice, though I much prefer Sarah myself <3

Faye is pretty! I prefer as a middle name, but unique as a first <3 Faye Annelise?

Claire is a fav, love! Claire Eliza, Claire Genevieve, Claire Juliet are my favs!

Meredith is okay, not my style

Edie is gorgeous!!!

Julia is nice, but I adore Juliana instead!

Eleanor is so cute! Eleanor Faye is on my list!

Adele is sweet! Love that and Adelaide!

Isla is cute <3


I looove Jude! Haha! So handsome, I love Greyson Jude myself.
I love hoe Jude sounds with super masculine strong sounding names, well at least strong ones, like I like Jude Gabriel, and Jude Alexander, Jude Archer and Jude Christopher!

Max is so cute!!!!! And handsome haha! Max Leonardo and Max Timothy are handsome!

I still love Noah Alexander <3 but I also love Noah Patrick, Noah Cassius and Noah Christopher A LOT. I love all the combos, but yeah <3

I'm not personally fond of Dean, but it's okay. Dean Elliot is nice!

Wiley is a name I have definitely been growing fond of! I'm way to afraid to steal it from RJ if she happens to have another boy in the future, but oh well. The name is brought up a lot, and it's beginning to be so attractive to me! I love Katie's Wiley Christopher <3 But Wiley Thomas is really handsome! As is all the others haha, I love so many of your combos always

Ross is okay, I like Ross Brennan and Ross Nolan

Love Silas! As well as Simon Silas Abram and Silas Theodore are both really nice, I looove Silas William, Silas Jude and Silas Gray!!!

Penn I like! It seems a bit of an odd name, and like it might not work well as a first name alone, but nonetheless I love it!

And the crab, Sebastian! Hehe, childhood memories <3 I adored those movies so much that those names are permanently owned by them lol! It's a nice name, but yeah <3

Tristan is okay

Reed is nice <3

Derek is okay, not much my style. Maybe Derek Nathan?

(I probably would have chosen Cordelia, but my 11 year old cousin recently revealed to me in her very adorable south-london accent that our Nana tried to force her mother, my aunt, into naming her Cordelia. Poor Maddie was exceptionally distraught. Her exact words were "Nana might as well have thrown me in a dumpster, because my life would have been OVER." I told her Nana tried to name me Olivia, and Maddie walked away saying, "I knew Nana liked you better. DAMN IT!" Shes Madeleine Charlotte now, and she is definitely pleased about it. So ever since, I have not been a Cordelia person.... )

Ahhhh same for Norah, I love this name. Norah Vivienne and Norah Genevieve. The MNs are two of my favorites
Emily Georgia is super cute, so is Emily Briar. I've never had Emily on my lists, because in my age group its suuuuper common, and I fear it will sound "dated" when I decide to have kids, but I really really like it One of my best friends is Emily Bess.

I love Anna Celeste, Anna Juliette and Anna Louise. All of your other Anna combos are great as well but those 3 are fabulous!

I much prefer Anna to Annmarie. I do love Anastasia, Annabel & Annelise nn Anna.

Grace isn't a favorite of mine. I do like Grace Vivienne, Grace Evelyn and Grace Caroline.

Lydia is gorgeous! My favorites are Lydia Gwyneth (so regal) and Lydia Charlotte.

Norah is spunky! I especially like Norah Jane, Norah Charlotte and Norah Bridget. I like all the others as well with the exception of Opal.

Emily is nice but overused. I much prefer Emmeline. Emily Georgia is my pick.

I find Noah a bit on the boring side. I prefer Jonah. Noah Alexander has the best flow. I love Cassius but I don't think it works with Noah.

I don't care for Dean. Dean Elliott would be my pick.

Wiley is not my style at all. I actually really dislike it. It reminds me of Wiley coyote and someone with a lisp trying to say Riley.

Ross is also not for me.

Silas Abram is awesome! I also like Silas Jude!

Caleb Henry & Thomas are my favorites here.

I also like: Sebastian, Tristan, Reed (prefer Reid) and Archer. I don't mind Luca.
