I'm really not a fan and would honestly advice against using it. The pronunciation that came to me first was Cree-ton. A cretin, pronounced Cree-ton, is someone who is stupid and or brainless. A horrible association.

Thats what I was thinking! I've never even heard it before now and it was a bridge, much less on a kid or person in general, but I thought it was interesting enough to share

I have only heard it as "Cray-ton", too. Well at least until this post came out. Creighton is pretty for a boy. Once again, I can't think of many combos but...The only way I've heard it pronounced is Cray-ton. I've also seen it used on two children before--both of them were boys. It's the name of a college that's pretty big here in the Midwest. Needless to say their parents were big Creighton fans. I have a pretty huge obsession with surnames so I definitely think it's usable.

But I have to say, I'm not a fan. The word Cretin (pronounced the same) is used as a derogatory term meaning a stupid or mentally handicapped person.
If you like the CRAY ton pronunciation. I would suggest spelling it Crayton or Craighton ?
