I don't know why, but I've been loving state names lately. And most of them for boys, actually. Names like Arizona, Montana, Dakota, and Indiana just seem like fantastic boy names. They have quickly earned themselves a spot at the top of my gp list (and as an mn Dakota on my real list). I also like Tennessee or maybe even Pennsylvania (nn Penn or Sylvan).

I could see a little Graham Arizona or Luke Montana running around (though I wouldn't particularly use either of those first names).

For girls, I like Maine and Alaska, maybe Nevada.

Just wondering what everyone thinks. I like discussions like these. :)

I like states' names :) but I usually picture them on girls.

Girls: *Alabama, Alaska, *Arizona, (California?), (Florida?), *Nevada, *Jersey.

Boys: Idaho, *Michigan, *Dakota, Pennsylvania, *Tennessee, Vermont.

I'd actually consider the starred ones.

I like the following State names (though I don't think that I'd ever use any of them).

Girls: Alaska, Nevada, Maine, Tennessee, Arizona (though I do like Graham Arizona for a little boy), and Vermont.

Boys: Michigan, Jersey (New Jersey), Montana, and Indiana.

I've been loving Alaska for a little girl, and also like Jersey, and possibly Indiana nn Indie or Anna.

For boys, Tennessee is cool and so is Pennsylvania with those nn's you mentioned.

For most though, I would probably put in the mn spot.

Just thought... Arizona nn Ari would be adorable!

There's a few place names I love, not as much state names though. I love Phoenix, though not so much Arizona. I do love Alaska, though its a GP from one of my favorite books (Looking for Alaska by John Green has been a favorite for YEARS). I can see Indiana as a good name, though I personally love India on a girl. I used to like Dakota until I met one and he was "eh". Darn having associations to names.. kinda ruins it sometimes ;) I do think Penn is cute. Sylvan is okay, but it makes me think of a local learning center for kids struggling in school.. which is a nice center, but sad in that kids are struggling haha.

I love a lot of place names aside from states. India has been on my list for the longest time. :)

I like Maine, Arizona, and Alaska for a girl. I really do not like Nevada or Georgia.

I like Vermont "Monty" and Rhode (like Rhode Island) for boys. I dislike Dakota and Jersey.
