I'm trying to put together a name list, but I'm having a little trouble getting started. I have a very extensive list of single names that I like, but I'd love to have a short list of my favorite combos. I'm starting with boys, because I know girls will take forever since I have just over 100 names on my girls list, and only 44 for boys.

Anyway, I've narrowed down the boys to only my very favorites, and they're all in need of middles. I also have some questions about the usability of a few names that I'll include under the list. If you have the time to answer them, that would be awesome.

Calloway

Flynn

Heath

Hector

Kieran

Lewis

Robin

Wade

1. I love the name Paris for a boy, ever since I took a mythology class and studied the story of Helen of Troy (which is also where I got Hector.) I'm not sure how popular Paris is for a girl; I've only ever heard it on Paris Hilton. Is it usable for a boy?

2. Keeping with the mythology theme, what about Atlas? I love it, and it sort of goes along with the whole Roman trend, I think. Could an Atlas fit in with Magnus, Cyrus, and Atticus? Also, could Septimus nn Sep work, or is that way too much?

3. I already know the answer to this one, but my love of the name obligates me to ask. I love Ashley on a boy, and the nn Ash. Even though I know it's lost to the girls, I have to ask if you think a boy could pull of Ashley?

4. I also really like Darcy, ever since I read Pride and Prejudice sophomore year. Is Darcy too feminine for a boy?

5. Another name that most people think is girls-only that I like for a boy is Wren. As far as I know, it's not super popular. Is it okay on a boy or have the girls taken this one too?

6. I've recently started warming up to the nn Andy. It's relaxed and familiar, but not crazy popular these days. Only problem is that I'm not crazy about Andrew. Are there any other names that could lead to the nn Andy?

Calloway - This is nice, but too surnamey for me. It's very Irish sounding too, so could be a problem if your heritage is different. Calloway James, Calloway Jude, Calloway Ivan, Calloway Scott, Calloway Luke, Calloway Noah, Calloway Michael, Calloway Blake, Calloway Drake, Calloway Sean, or Calloway Tate?

Flynn - I totally adore Flynn, but I actually prefer it on a girl (crazy right?) Flynn Isaiah, Flynn Josiah, Flynn Oscar, Flynn Peter, Flynn Everett, Flynn Garrett, Flynn Samuel, Flynn Tobias, Flynn Carter, Flynn Cooper, or Flynn Dashiell?

Heath - Handsome! One of my favourite nature names for boys. Heath Benjamin, Heath Noah, Heath Wiley, Heath Gregory, Heath Jeffrey, Heath Dominic, Heath Skyler, Heath Finley, Heath Merrick, Heath Jameson, Heath Aaron, or Heath Carson?

Hector - I love Hector! Hector Michael, Hector James, Hector Louie, Hector Andrew, Hector Nathan, Hector Kevin, Hector Lyle, Hector Paul, Hector Daniel, Hector Paris, Hector Grey, Hector Jay, Hector Levi, Hector Ashton, or Hector Robert?

Kieran - Not a fan of Kieran. Kieran Sky, Kieran Jay, Kieran Lowell, Kieran Tate, Kieran Oscar, Kieran Isaiah, Kieran Gabriel, Kieran Vance, Kieran Drake, Kieran Samuel, Kieran Thomas, Kieran Emmett, Kieran Xavier, Kieran Quinn, or Kieran Ray?

Lewis - It's not my favourite, but I like it because it has family significance for me. Lewis Bowen, Lewis Rogan, Lewis Matthew, Lewis Daniel, Lewis Andrew, Lewis Victor, Lewis Peter, Lewis Cooper, Lewis Wyatt, Lewis Noah, Lewis Jasper, or Lewis Carter?

Robin - This is handsome! I much prefer it over Robert. Robin Isaiah, Robin Josiah, Robin Jeffrey, Robin George, Robin Michael, Robin Lucas, Robin Henry, Robin James, Robin Levi, Robin Asher, or Robin Gabriel?

Wade - This is meh for me. It reminds me of a boy I had college with, but that's not a bad association. Wade Gideon, Wade Rafferty, Wade Emory, Wade Brogan, Wade Silas, Wade Linus, Wade Fisher, Wade Asher, Wade Bentley, or Wade Alexander?

1. I love the name Paris for a boy, ever since I took a mythology class and studied the story of Helen of Troy (which is also where I got Hector.) I'm not sure how popular Paris is for a girl; I've only ever heard it on Paris Hilton. Is it usable for a boy? - I love Paris on a boy! I think it's totally useable, especially because of the Paris of Troy reference. I'm not a fan of it on a girl tbh, it just feels trashy to me on a girl, but I really really like it for a boy.

2. Keeping with the mythology theme, what about Atlas? I love it, and it sort of goes along with the whole Roman trend, I think. Could an Atlas fit in with Magnus, Cyrus, and Atticus? Also, could Septimus nn Sep work, or is that way too much? - I think that Atlas could definitely work, it fits in with the trends. I'm not sure about Septimus, although I do love it, it might be better as a middle name.

3. I already know the answer to this one, but my love of the name obligates me to ask. I love Ashley on a boy, and the nn Ash. Even though I know it's lost to the girls, I have to ask if you think a boy could pull of Ashley? - I actually know a couple of boys named Ashley, and I think it works so much better on a boy than a girl. I don't think it's lost to the girls at all, so if you love it, use it!

4. I also really like Darcy, ever since I read Pride and Prejudice sophomore year. Is Darcy too feminine for a boy? - Unfortunately, despite my deep love for Mr Darcy, I have to say that I think Darcy is probably too feminine for a boy to pull off. The only Darcys I know of are female (Darcey Bussell & Baby Glitter), so that solidifies the name as female for me.

5. Another name that most people think is girls-only that I like for a boy is Wren. As far as I know, it's not super popular. Is it okay on a boy or have the girls taken this one too? - I think Wren could work on a boy, but it is very firmly associated with girls in my mind.

6. I've recently started warming up to the nn Andy. It's relaxed and familiar, but not crazy popular these days. Only problem is that I'm not crazy about Andrew. Are there any other names that could lead to the nn Andy? - I'm not a fan of Andy, or Andrew actually, but both honour family for me. What about Anders, Anderson, Andre, Andreas, or Andrei.

I've added the names from the bottom that I think are totally usable:

Calloway - Calloway Paris / Calloway Fox / Calloway Gordon

Flynn - Flynn Septimus / Flynn Ashley / Flynn Lucius / Flynn Joshua

Heath - Heath Tennyson / Heath Soren / Heath Russell

Kieran - Kieran Apollo / Kieran Ashley / Kieran Grey / Kieran Rhys

Lewis - Lewis Dexter / Lewis Abram / Lewis Declan / Lewis Cain

Robin - Robin Heath / Robin Wesley / Robin Isaac / Robin Ike

Wade - Wade Christopher / Wade Septimus / Wade Augustus

Atlas - Atlas Avery / Atlas Boyd / Atlas Graham / Atlas Dmitri

Darcy - Darcy Jared / Darcy Graham / Darcy Lorcan / Darcy Abel / Darcy Kent

Wren (btw, I love this one so much! I've loved it for so long on boys, but I've been alone) -

Hannah - I like Calloway Scott (Scott is a family name, so bonus points,) Flynn Garrett, Heath Gregory, Heath Jameson, Hector James (another family name,) Kieran Lowell (I actually really love Lowell in the mn spot. Maybe have to add it to my list,) Lewis Matthew, Robin Asher, Wade Rafferty, and Wade Alexander.

I think Anderson is my favorite name for Andy. It's actually my mom's maiden name, and I hadn't thought of using it as a first name.

Addison - Thank you for raiding the bank of names on my profile! (Unless you're just really good at guessing my naming style.) I was going to include all those names in the original post, but it slipped my mind. Glad you found them.

These are the combos I really like: Calloway Gordon, Flynn Septimus, Heath Tennyson, Heath Russell, Kieran Ashley, Kieran Apollo, Lewis Abram, Robin Wesley, Wade Augustus, Darcy Lorcan, and Darcy Graham.

I'm glad someone else likes Wren on a boy! I was beginning to think I was the only one!

Thanks for the awesome responses, guys! I'd love some mn suggestions for Paris, Atlas, Ashley, Wren, and Anderson.

I get that you'll probably want different names for middles, but since I don't have a very good idea of your style I'll just go with what's here.

Calloway - It's too surname-y for me, but the nickname Cal could lighten it up a bit.

Flynn - I like it a lot, though I prefer Finn a bit more. Calloway Finn or Finn Calloway could be nice, but I also like from your list here Lewis Flynn or Flynn Hector.

Heath - It's definitely grown on me since I first heard it. Despite the double H's, I think Hector Heath would be really handsome. Kieran Heath would be nice too, or Heath Calloway.

Hector - I really like Hector. A lot. Hector Lewis, Hector Robin, or Hector Wade would be handsome.

Kieran - I prefer the traditional Irish spelling Ciaran, but Kieran is okay. Kieran Lewis, Keiran Robin, Keiran Heath, Kieran Flynn, and Kieran Wade could all work.

Lewis - It's one of my friend's last names, so it's a bit awkward for me, and I like Louis a bit better but I know it gets pronounced like Louie half the time, so you're probably better off with the Lewis spelling. I think it's okay, but like it better as a middle than a first. Robin Lewis would be nice, or Wade Lewis.

Robin - I adore Robin! It's rare that I find other people who like Robin on a boy, but I've been in love with the name because of the Robin Hood legend and BBC's Robin Hood TV show. Robin Flynn would be nice.

Wade - This one has definitely grown on me lately as well. Sometimes it's hard to find middles for a one-syllable name though. Wade Calloway would be nice.

1. I love the name Paris for a boy, ever since I took a mythology class and studied the story of Helen of Troy (which is also where I got Hector.) I'm not sure how popular Paris is for a girl; I've only ever heard it on Paris Hilton. Is it usable for a boy?

I actually really like Paris on a boy, too, and I love Greek & Roman mythology and the story behind the name (though I don't know it that well). I honestly don't like it on a girl at all. I think a boy could pull it off, though there might be some teasing involved.

2. Keeping with the mythology theme, what about Atlas? I love it, and it sort of goes along with the whole Roman trend, I think. Could an Atlas fit in with Magnus, Cyrus, and Atticus? Also, could Septimus nn Sep work, or is that way too much?

I love Atlas. I think it could definitely be usable, and it's a name that has a definite strength behind it---Atlas was the Titan who held up the sky, correct? I really like Magnus and Atticus, though they're a bit more unusual, and Cyrus is okay but not really my style. They could definitely fit well together as siblings. I actually like the name Septimus too, and Sep lightens it up a bit, but it is a little bit too much.

3. I already know the answer to this one, but my love of the name obligates me to ask. I love Ashley on a boy, and the nn Ash. Even though I know it's lost to the girls, I have to ask if you think a boy could pull of Ashley?

I actually like Ashley on a boy (it seems we have a lot in common!), and the nickname Ash is handsome. My answer: Can a boy pull off Ashley? Yes... but there would be TONS of ridicule and I honestly wouldn't want to do that. I think it could be a nice middle, though, where not everybody would see/question it, and you could still call him Ash occasionally.

4. I also really like Darcy, ever since I read Pride and Prejudice sophomore year. Is Darcy too feminine for a boy?

I've never liked the name Darcy and have met both a boy and a girl named Darcy, neither of which was a very nice person so I'm a bit biased against it. I think it could definitely work on a boy though.

5. Another name that most people think is girls-only that I like for a boy is Wren. As far as I know, it's not super popular. Is it okay on a boy or have the girls taken this one too?

I like Wren, and though I don't think I would use it on either gender I think I do like it on a boy a bit better. I don't think it's totally lost to girls.

6. I've recently started warming up to the nn Andy. It's relaxed and familiar, but not crazy popular these days. Only problem is that I'm not crazy about Andrew. Are there any other names that could lead to the nn Andy?

The only ones I can think of were suggested above. Good luck with this one, I know an Andrew who always goes by Andy and he's really great.

Thanks Jenna! I love Heath Calloway and Robin Lewis. Heath Calloway is probably my favorite suggestion so far, honestly. I also really like Paris Oliver, Atlas Mitchell, Atlas Henry, Wren Alexander, Wren Oliver, Anderson Garrett, and Anderson Reid.

I'm really surprised that a few of you think Ashley could work on a boy! Every time I mention to my sister or my mom, they shoot it down. Maybe if I make them read Gone With the Wind they'll come around... even if Ashley isn't the most likable character in the book.

Going through people's profiles is actually a really good idea. Thanks again Addison!

At first glance, I really like Ashley Russell, Anderson Rhys, Paris Gordon, and Wren Theodore. I'll look more closely later, but those are the ones that caught my eye.

I had Ashley Isaiah on my list for years! I felt it was the perfect name to go with my oldests son, Aasyn Giovanni. Aasyn and Ashley, Ace and Ash <3

I don't have any suggestions for other combos just yet but I promise to come back with some! :) (my toddler and my pre schooler are fighting at the moment -_-)
