I know it is technically boys name, but I have met both a girl and a boy Peregrin. I like the name a lot... I kinda think it works better for a girl?

I've never heard the name before!

At first sight, I think I'd think boy. As I would at first hearing it :/

Though, I don't particularly like it. It'd certainly be a unique middle name, and could work really well like that! Like maybe Chase Peregrin? That'd how I'd make it work, personally :)

Are you asking for middle names? Or just our opinions on the name? :)

Both. I think I like it for a girl. I'm curious what middle names y'all think would work best.

If you ever saw Lord of the Rings or read the books, Pippin's full name is Peregrin "Pippin" Took. It's a very old boys name, but I think I like it for a girl more. Some TV show recently had a girl on it named Peregrin.

I never read those books... :( my brothers obsessed over them to the point they just sounded unappealing :/

But, here's a few names I think would sound nice with Peregrin:

Peregrin James
Peregrin Josiah
Peregrin Charles
Peregrin Daniel

Peregrin Leila
Peregrin Aubrey

I personally like it for a boy. A possible nickname, Perry, also seems firmly masculine. Peregrin makes me think of King Pellinore from Once and Future King. The names aren't that close, but that's what it makes me think of. I think it is a little too out there for a first name, but as a middle name it could really spice up a popular/common first name.

Robert Peregrin
Charles Peregrin
Miles Peregrin
Victor Peregrin
Eli Peregrin
Jonah Peregrin
Cedric Peregrin
Daniel Peregrin

... wow, it sounds good with a lot of names. Probably because P names aren't that popular right now and I'm not a fan of most ends-in-N names.

Our naming styles are very different. It's a pretty old name, I don't think it is too out there. I'd never name my son Daniel or Robert though. Too plain. And I also am okay with some masculine sounding girls names, to a degree.

I realize it is a very old name, but old names can be too out-there. That's just my opinion on this particular name, anyway. I do like to use some classic boy names like Benjamin, Anthony, Nathaniel etc. and then use an unusual middle name like Percival, Tobias, or Leander. However, I do like it the opposite way, too. I'd take Garrett Matthias {common, rare} and Tobias Dean {rare, common} over Daniel Thomas {common, common} and Robert Anthony {common, common} any day. It totally depends on the name. Also, just because I suggest a name does NOT mean I like it or would use it. I'll suggest what I think it sounds good in the combo if I'm not familiar with the style of name the one I'm suggest it to has. Everyone has their own opinions here lol.

P.S. Robert is my boyfriend's name so I never said anything bad about it, ok? :) I do agree that it is "boring," but that doesn't mean I don't think it could be extremely handsome when paired nicely. I think Robert Peregrin is a fair combo. That's why I generally suggest pairing names that are fairly far apart on the SSA list. It keeps popular names from being completely boring and unusual names from being confusing. :shrugs:

I hope I explained where I was coming from with my suggestions.

Good luck, and I'm sorry you didn't care for my suggestions. As I answer more of your questions I will try to get more used to your style. :(

So, for girls:
Peregrin Alice
Peregrin Sarai
Peregrin Lenore
Peregrin Aoife
Peregrin Vera
Peregrin Isis
Peregrin Soleil
Peregrin Vera
Peregrin Eve
Peregrin Adele* My fave so far.
Peregrin Celeste
Peregrin Juno
Peregrin Violet* Also a fave.
Peregrin Lucia
Peregrin Sylvie* Also a fave.
