Hey guys, a relative of mine recently passed away (our family are very private, so I can't say who). But she LOVED poppies, so I thought a cute way of honouring her would be to use the name Poppy. Do you think Poppy is a substantial first name? I worry about it not aging well. Any middle name suggestions?

I love the name Poppy :3 My friend's sister had a baby girl last year called Poppy Hannah Louise, which I adore (she's also pretty cute herself). I think Poppy works fine as a first name, but I'd pair it with something more classic such as Elisabeth so that she has something more formal to go by if she decides Poppy is too childish later on in life.

Hope this helps.

Hannah x

I love Poppy!

It could go as a nickname for Persephone (OK maybe not much better for aging), Penelope, or anything else with a "P," like Paris, Portia, or even Phoebe (it kinda rhymes? idk).

But I think it's a great name on its own, and would be perfect with a more classic middle:
Poppy Eleanor
Poppy Louise
Poppy Marissa
Poppy Rachelle
Poppy Leah
Poppy Josephine
Poppy Gwendalyn
Poppy Harriet
Poppy Henrietta
Poppy Morgan
Poppy Jade
Poppy Rose
Poppy Rosalie
Poppy Victoria
Poppy Kate
Poppy Anne
Poppy Wren
Poppy Hannah
Poppy Julia
Poppy Charlotte
Poppy Emma
Poppy Gretchen
Poppy Francesca
Poppy Deanna
Poppy Katherine

If you like any I can suggest more sweetie.

Poppy Hannah Louise is lovely, but I don't think I'd use it myself. I have considered Poppy Elizabeth (with a z).

I'm not a big fan of Persephone or Penelope (would possibly use as mns, but defo not first). Love Phoebe, but not sure if Poppy would be an obvious NN choice.
my faves are: Poppy Eleanor, Poppy Marissa, Poppy Harriet, Poppy Morgan, Poppy Victoria, Poppy Julia, Poppy Charlotte, Poppy Francesca - this is my absolute favourite, LOVE IT! <3, Poppy Deanna, Poppy Katherine

I love the name Poppy! It's very common here though. I think it will age just fine. GL :)

Yes, Poppy Francesca is probably my fave of all the ones listed. I do like Poppy, and it is especially great if you are honoring a special family member. Pompeya is the only name I found that would donate Poppy as a nn, but it is plenty sweet on its own too. :) <3
