I wish I had the guts to use the name Betty.
It was Mawmaw's name. She raised me from when I was a baby, and died from ovarian cancer when I was 15.
I would love to name my daughter after her, but I'd be too scared she'd get made fun of or something....

There are many many names I would love to use but more than likely never would because they sound to old or to weird.

Agatha (nn Aggie)
Splendora
Pandora
Serephina
Emiliana
Octavia
Odessa (my granny's name)
Ora (my great-great grandma's name)

It's mainly girls names. I'm likely to use older sounding boys names anyways like John i love it.

I would use the name Betty. I highly doubt she'd be made fun of or something. Its a beautiful name and has a very strong meaning to you.

Aww, thanks you guys. I feel alot better about it now. Where already set on our daughter's name now, but Betty could be a possible choice for a future daughter.

Olive, Saoirse, Ophelia, Victoriana, Agnes, Edith, Leia, Lancelot...

I love all these names, but don't think any of them would fit in with todays society...

Olive, I bet would fit in okay, but there's so many Olivia's that Olive might just blend in... Saoirse has the pronunciation running against it. Ophelia and Leia... Victoriana just seems like it would work. It'd seem like I didn't think Victoria was long enough on it own, or I was trying to be tryndy in some form of way :D Agnes and Edith just seem to... old D:

And Lacelot, has obvious teasing potential :) Oh deary, I love Lancelot... <3

I love Augustus for a boy, but I really don't think I will ever use it. Also all the alternatives, Augustave, Gustave, Gustava, but I will never use them.

I love Leonardo too! Though, the only reason I don't use it is because I have Liam on my list, and Leonardo would end up being called Leo.... a Liam and Leo wouldn't work well together :)

I love Greek mythology and I love the myth of Hades and Persephone. And we strongly considered to name our daughter Persephone. I just didn't have the guts to use it. Even as a middle name.

Agnes and Edith just seem to... old D:

~Haddie

I LOVE Agnes, I think the nn Aggie is adorable. It is still on my list of favorites just at bit further down than it used to be. And you know I LOVE Edie, but not a big fan of Edith, it also seems way to old for me. But I would still use Agnes :)

I love the name Virginia, for multiple reasons. But I don't know if I would ever use it for a daughter, because I'm afraid they would get teased for having the word virgin in their name. But I still love it.

And I love the name Lorelei but I think people will associate it with Gilmore Girls too much. And I don't know how well the name Malakai would work out either. Or the name Tabitha, it just seems kind of old. I never liked the name Tabitha before but it's really grown on me.

Other names like:
Irelyn
Maeve
Anya
Aerilyn
Aurelia
Amara
Dierdre
Sydney

Ezra
Evander
Jasper
Jensen
Sterling
Lachlan
Desmond

I just don't think I'd be brave enough to use some of them.

Hermoine. Not even joking. I love it! But I am not brave enough. Plus, my spouse would have to be a huge Harry Potter fan! :D

Although, I am thinking about that becoming a requirement!

also,,,

Tallulah ~ my mom loathes it. And a lot of other people think it's weird.
Lavender ~ a lot of people don't see it as a name
Luna ~ another HP name. I just adore it.

Their aren't a lot of "out there" names I wouldn't use maybe; Misty, Fuchsia, Petunia, Shreya, and Salem.

I have more boy names that I could never use; Cyrus, Poseidon, Trillian, Beau, Guy, Aloysius, and the one that EVERYONE will hate me for loving Lucifer. I LOVE the name untill I read what people would associate it with(I'm not Christian so I didn't even know that it was a name for the devil).

Persephone--I love Greek mythology and I've always loved the myth of Hades and Persephone. And my husband and I were tempted to use it for our daughter. Alas, I don't have the guts to use it.

There are so many names on my list that I'd love to be brave enough to use:

Boys:

Basil
Caius
Caspian
Cassius
Justice
Lincoln
Lucian
Mikhail
Micaiah
Nicolai
Paris
Romeo
Samson

Girls:

Cordelia
Isis
Juno
Leia (like Princess Leia)
Lola
Temperance

I love all of these, but I don't know if I would have the guts to use them. My absolute favorites are Isis and Romeo. And Temperance is really growing on me.
