So I've always liked Anna as a possible first name for a future daughter. Anna would be after my grandmother Ann who died before I was born and after myself (my middle name being Ann).

But then I also adore the name Juliann (No E since I'm Ann without the E) as a first name.

And recently I've been playing around with the combination Edie Georgiana. I still really like Edie Laurence (my top girl name at the moment) but Edie Georgiana is growing on me.

The problem is that I would never consider using them in combination (as siblings) because it is a pet peeve of mine to use variations of the same name and each one of these (though not variations exactly) are basically a form of the name Ann.

So my question is, which version do you prefer???

i LOVE LOVE LOVE the name Anna.

If we have a girl, she will be named Anna Grace. Anna means Gracious... so instead of calling her by her first and middle name when she needs it, hubby is going to call her Gracious Grace! It's cute, and he loves the idea.

There is something just so classical about Anna.

For me, Ann is too stubby and plain.

I'm not a big fan of longer names either like Anastasia, Anabella... etc... but out of all of those Julianna is my favorite.

Either way, you can't lose. Anna is a gorgeous, ageless name.

Well I'm biased :P I have a Julieanne. The only reason we spelled it that way was to avoid any possible "Juli" nickname, as we're part German and in German that means July. It would just annoy me lol.
And also, I liked Anne with an E because I'm a bit of a Lucy Maud fanatic.

But I still think it's a beautiful name any way it is spelled.
Be warned though. No matter how many times I've told people her name is Julieanne, they will call her Julia, Juliana, Julian, etc. So I've given up and often introduce her as Julie if it's not someone I intend to see regularly from then on.

Okay, I finally remembered the character it made me think of. I'm pretty sure it's Carol Anne from Poltergeist, so it's really not related at all - no worries. :P

I personally love all three.
I'll admit, I prefer the spelling Julianne. But since it's to honour you {Ann}, then I don't see a problem with it!

I also like some variants; Rhiannon, Annabel, Diana, Anneliese, Liliana, Anastasia, Breanne, Vivian, Adriana, Lucianna, Hannah, Roxanne, Christiana, Annmarie, Mariana and Alana.

Okay, I don't know how this got past me... I just saw your sig with Anna Celeste as one of your top names. I really love this combo, so I think you should stick with it. So I vote for Anna.

I like the name Ann and Anna alone or together. Do you think that you like names that begin with Ann or Anna? Or do you prefer ending in it? My favourite from your list is Juliann
