I'm not talking about the ancient stone city cut into the mountains and Jordan (: I read a book with a girl who had this name.
Basically, its the feminine form of Peter and it means the same thing (rock).
I actually like it---rather, its growing on me. WDYT?

I read a book with this name in it too. I don't like it at all. I think it's so harsh sounding.

Reminds me of a petra dish or whatever they're called.
No, it wasn't that book. I don't remember the name, but it was when I was in the seventh grade.

Well, Petra naturally reminds me of rocks, since "Pietra" is Italian for "Rock".
It's not a common/easy name by any means, but I rather like it.
I associate it with a collection of poems by Dante Alighieri, whom I absolutely love!

I can see it in a book, maybe even in a manga. It's not really my style

I had a friend, Valisity, in high school whose sister was named Petra. It's not really my style, but for some reason I've also kind of liked it.
