I think you meant ETHNIC group. And I completely disagree. Melody always reminds me of The Little Mermaid 2, with Ariel's daughter, Melody.i'm not sure what ethic group you are, but when ever i think of Melody i think of an african amercian girl.
Anyway, I recently fell in love with this name out of nowhere. I don't know why. My mom told me a while ago that she almost named me Melody or Melanie, but changed her mind. I always hated those names, but Melody has grown on me tremendously.

I knew a Melody and a Melanie. I didn't really like either of them, so my association with the names is... less than pleasant. Harmony is nms either, though I've never met a Harmony. I just associate it with the ditzy two-faced blondie vampire on Buffy and Angel. I don't think of any of the names as specific to African Americans, though. Not at all. The Melody I knew was Caucasian. I'm not a fan of any other musical names either. Lyric, Belle, etc. really don't sound that nice to me.
