Well, my daughter's name is Jayde. And honestly, I'm seriously considering changing the spelling to the normal Jade.

I originally messed with the spelling so that she and her sister's names would have the same amount of letters.

But now I'm thinking it's just going to be constantly normalized and that will get annoying, plus I'm disliking the fact that I misspelled a word on purpose.

So what do you think, should I just go ahead and take out the y while she's little so it won't affect her as she gets older or should I just leave it alone because what's done is done?

Also, have any of you gone through the lovely work of changing your/your child's name or known someone who has? What was that like? Was it worth the effort?

Thanks in advance,

Bailey.

If you think it needs to be done then do it now. That way when she's in preschool and then goes to elementary school there won't be any sudden changes and the confusion with the spelling will already be resolved.

I wouldn't worry about her being confused about the spelling. She's so young she probably won't even remember it. Jade is definitely more classy. I say go with what your heart tells you.

I adore the spelling Jayde  but if you think you should change it, then change it while she's still little.

I think it's cute that their names are the same amount of letters. But if you want to change it, go ahead.
