Earlier this year we were adopting a baby boy. We spent 24 days with him and named him Owen Briggs. His mom changed her mind about the adoption and kept him, AND KEPT THE NAME.

We still LOVE the name that we chose for OUR son.

We are now in the process of adopting a baby boy, due in January. Do we use the name again? Or should we reverse it to Briggs Owen?

I think Owen Briggs flows best :) if you feel that's the name you love and want to use, then I'd use it.

I'm so sorry about the adoption that was taken back.. That's so rough :( I wish you the best <3

I don't think there is a right or wrong answer here.  You are free to do as you choose.  However, if it were me, I would consider the name our gift to little Owen and find a brand new name for the new baby.

I agree, I feel like using the name again would say to little Owen that he didn't mean that much to you. The lovely thing about names is that there are so many great ones to choose from, I bet you could find an equally awesome name to give another child.
