Hi,

I'm currently writing a story and I need a title for a Duke and his heir, a Earl. I'm currently using:

• For The Duke: Essex
• For his son: Chelmsford

But I need fictional titles for these. The story is set in England and currently is based on these two areas. Please help me.

I know there isn't a lot to go on but I'm really stuck.

So you need another name for a Duke or an Earl? If it is set in England rather than a fictional country it would make since to use Duke and Earl since they are familiar.

No, Katie, I need an area like I need to change Essex (it's already become Suffolk) but Chelsmford needs to be changed.

In the UK a son of a Duke can be called a Earl, if not royal. The Duke of Northumberland son is known as Marquess of Stafford, but sometimes it can be a Earl.

Gotcha, I guess I'm not as familiar enough with English titles.

So Chelmsford would be an area of Essex? And now you need an area of Suffolk?
