My brother-in-law's middle name is Lucian and he wants to call his firstborn son with a similar name. My  sisiter is against Lucius  (although Lucius Marshall sounds ok from my pov), they are discussing Lucis, Lucas, Luke. She says Luke is toobland.

What do you think about Luz? This is my suggestion and my sister likes it.

I wouldn't use Luz...
I'm Portuguese and Luz is a feminine name meaning "light". This name is used in Portuguese and Spanish speaking countries. I also don't think it is easy to pronounce Luz.

I love Lucas and Luke!
My suggestions are:
Julian
Ian
Luca
Lorenzo
Aidan
Cassian
Damian
Luther
Maximilian
Louis
Killian
Lutz
Florian
Luciano
Bastian (or Sebastian)
Christian
Caspian
Dorian

I, too, think of Luz as a girl's name. I think Lucas is a good choice.

Ok. They won't use Lucas, too common. She has chosen Lutz.
