I was just wondering what you ladies thought of the name Anna

I used to prefer it as a nickname for longer names containing "An-", but not I like it on it's own.

If I ever have a daughter, I'm honestly considering it.

I would most likely call her Annie when she's little.

Any thoughts, suggestions, middle name ideas?

ALL WELCOME!

It's been a long time since I've seen you start a post lol ;]

I love Anna, and like you, I prefer it the all the other flowery "An-" variations. I like it just a little more than Anne/Ann--I think Anna is a little more timeless/works well on all ages. Annie is an adorable nickname--I used to have (well still have :P) a Raggedy Ann doll whom I called Annie more often then not, and I think it truly is a sweet nickname that works on all ages, though Anna is just a little more professional for when she needs that.

To sum it up, it's a lovely name, and not one that is all too common anymore. I love your combo of Anna Katherine.

Some more suggestions:
Anna Grace
Anna Claire
Anna Louise
Anna Lucille
Anna Kate
Anna Penelope
Anna Sophia (but I think there's an actress with this name, or something similar)
Anna Sinead
Anna Primrose
Anna Charlotte
Anna Scarlett
Anna Kathleen

Yeah, it's been a while!

I love it, because it works in all three languages that I need. I had Anna Florence, Anna Gail and Anna Juliet for a while [I loved the nickname AJ!]. But none I could see myself using.

I love Anna Louise which would honour my mum, since her first middle name is Louise.

As for Anna Sophia, I had a great-grandma names Sofia-Sonia and she passed away just before I was born. Apparently, she was so excited to meet us, but never got the chance. So I've always wanted to honour her and my grandmother's, Hannah and Mary. Hence why I thought Anna was perfect. It incorporates the "Anna" from Hannah and the "An-" in Andrea!

So I have thought of Anna Sofia. You're right though, there's an actress named AnnaSophia Robb.

Anna Kathleen is another option I really like! So are Anna Kate, Anna Scarlett and Anna Charlotte.

Any idea as to how I could honour Danielle in a middle name?

Thank you, dear.

I was going to suggest using the "Elle" part of Danielle's name, but Anna Ella/Elle really doesn't go together in a way I don't like because Anna ends with a definitive vowel and Ella starts with one.

Anna Danielle could work, though its a little rhyme-y with the double "an" sound. Danielle is certainly giving me issues lol--Anna may not be the right name to use it with.

Thinking about it.... it Anna already incorporates the "An-" in Danielle.. so I might not have to!

Thanks Rosie Pose!

Anna is certainly an all encompassing name. It's always neat to find names you love that also honor the people you love

My middle name is Ann after my grandmother (dad's mom) and my mom's favorite aunt.

When I was younger (13-ish) I planned on using Anna as a first name for a girl. I still like Anna but I don't think I'd ever use it, it is just a bit too traditional for my current eclectic taste :)

Anna Gail or Annagail used to be on my list (Glad you like it :)), I also thought of going all the way with naming a kid after myself and using Anna Kate.

Also from you list, I really like Anna Florence (or maybe Anna Laurence ;)), Anna Cathleen, Anna Louise & Anna Katherine.

I've always disliked the idea of naming a child after yourself.... but if you have a name as beautiful as yours [LOVE Katherine and Anna for Ann] then how I could I protest.

;)

I like Laurence/Laurent, but both are GPs, it would be slightly problematic to use them in French.

Hm. I'm not sure. At first glance I would say it is too many Ns. But if Anna Nicole can do it, why not Anna Noelle (which is much prettier).

Breanna? Or am I a little slow?

Katie, does it sound weird? Or is it okay to use? I want a name that could honour my French heritage.

Any other suggestions?

I would like a Hebrew one too, but I dislike the way most look.

[Maya, Ayla and some others I like, but none go with Anna!]

i like the name Bree and i like the name Anna, they have been my two faves for years but i couldnt have them as a sibset because of the name Breanna. And im not sure i would use Breanna as a first name, i still perfer them as two individual seperate names :/ lol if that makes any sense im really bad at explaining things.
