***Please leave thoughts/opinions/ratings/mn ideas/nn ideas/ect.***

1. Lux - This is one of favourites right now. I love the shortness and the uncommonness.

2. Gemma - Another of my favourites. I think it's a gorgeous name but I don't know how well it works for a child.

3. Sloane - I love this one but it's been sounding kind of bitter lately.

4. Hollis - I'm not sure about this one. I like it but I just don't know if I would ever use it. I think I like it more as a MN.

5. Tara - This one is relatively new to my list. I can't decide if I like the spelling Tara or Terra better, your opinion?

6. Jacqueline - I love this one, it's so long and elegant. I like the nn Jackie but it takes away from the gorgeousness.

7. Marisa - This one is personal because one of my closest friends was named Marisa but she died a couple months ago. I can't decide on the spelling of this one either. I like Marisa because that's how my friend spelled it but I also like Marissa with the double s as it looks beautiful.

8. Eleanor - Another one I love for it's elegance. I can picture it on a queen (but my connection to watching Brave with my daughters 8 times a day may have caused that) but on a gorgeous, intelligent girl as well. I don't like any nn options such as Ellie or Nora or Lenny.

9. Aiyana - I love this one but decreasingly so. I think my interest in it is fading. I don't know.

10. Missy - I love the sounding of it. I think Missy ages well also. Another of my friends is named Missy, actually Marisa's older sister. It just sounds super-cute to me.

***

1. Noah - It's my boyfriend's name. I love the sounding of it. What do you think of Noah Owen Jr.? But I'd probably use it as a mn for my first born son as long as he's Noah's.

2. Jacob - Long-time favourite. I love the nn Jake.

3. Lucas - I've always loved the name Lucas with the nn Luke, but my cousin recently had a baby and named him Lucas so this name is kind of meh to me now.

4. Andrew - This is more of a guilty pleasure name because of Andy Biersack. If I were to have a son and name him Andrew, I would call him Andy.

5. Dominic - This is a brand new name on my list. I don't like the nn Dom or Nic, but Dominic is kind of a mouthful.

6. Cameron - I've always like Cameron but it's never been super important. I don't like the nn Cam. But I also like Cameron (Camryn) on a girl so I'm not sure about this one.

7. Troye - The spelling on this is nonnegotiable. The e is going to remain. Nevermind the spelling, I love this name. I think it sounds somewhat regal but also modern.

8. Ethan - Another new name on my list. I usually go for Eli as my favourite E name, but I'm really starting to like Ethan.

9. Austin - This is probably the oldest name on my list. I've always loved the name Austin, I can totally picture myself with a son called Austin.

10. Kellin - Another gp. Kellin Quinn will forever be my favourite person. I don't like the spelling Kellan which I've been seeing a lot lately. If it gets more popular, I'll probably drop it.

1. Lux - Not a favorite, sounds like a nickname to me.

2. Gemma - Love this one! So pretty.

3. Sloane - Meh, it's okay. I'd like it better as a middle name.

4. Hollis - I prefer Holly.

5. Tara - Pretty! I prefer the spelling Tara.

6. Jacqueline - I agree that this one is elegant. It's a beautiful classic name with so much nickname potential.

7. Marisa - I'm so sorry for your loss. :(

I would generally prefer the spelling Marissa, but if you are honoring your friend, then go with this spelling.

8. Eleanor - This is actually a traditional royal name (Eleanor of Aquitaine comes to mind). Some other nickname options are Nell/Nellie and Ella. Or you could just use Eleanor with no nickname. It's a nice name, so their's no need to necessarily shorten it.

9. Aiyana - I'm not sure how to pronounce this one, and the spelling is a little confusing.

10. Missy - I always think of this as a nickname, probably because of a friend of mine in high school named Melissa went by Missy. I really have no opinion on it otherwise. I don't love it but I don't hate it.

***

1. Noah - Noah Owen Jr. is  an okay combo, but I think it's a tad heavy on the long O sounds. As a single name, I like it.

2. Jacob - This is a great classic name. I like it with or without the nn Jake.

3. Lucas - I like Lucas, but I understand not wanting to use it if your cousin just had a baby named Lucas.

4. Andrew - This one has really grown on me recently.

5. Dominic - I like this one.  I don't think Dominic is too much of a mouthful. If you like Dominic but don't like any of the the usual nicknames, just use the full name.

6. Cameron - Don't feel really strongly about this one.

7. Troye - This is an interesting one. It is very modern sounding, but since it was the name of an ancient city, it has a nice historical feel.

8. Ethan - LOVE this one! Ethan is one of my favorite names.

9. Austin - I've never been crazy about this one, but if you like it, go for it!

10. Kellin - I went to school with a guy named Kellan. He was such a nice and handsome guy, so I have good associations with this name, regardless of spelling!

My favorites from your list are Gemma, Tara,  Jacqueline, Eleanor, Jacob, Lucas, Dominic, Ethan, and Kellin

Lux 8/10
Gemma 7/9 (nn Gem)
Sloane 9/10 (nn Lo)
Hollis 5/10
Tara 5/10
Jacqueline 7/9 (I personally love the nns Ellie or Linny compared to the more traditional Jacqui)
Marisa 10/10 (nn Ari, Mia, Missy or Riss)
Eleanor 10/10 (nn Elle, Lennie, Nora or Lea)
Aiyana 3/10 (Aya or Annie)
Missy 6/10

Clearly my favourites are Sloane, Marisa and Eleanor from your girls.

Missy is a little too nicknamey for me but in a generation of Evies, Bellas, Callies, Ellas and Katies (and the like) it really could stand on it's own. And it also fits the vintage/old fashioned names that have popped up in the past few years. Marisa nn Missy could be an idea. Two birds with one stone kinda deal. There's also Melissa and Melisande that I can think of off the top of my head.
Lux is a GP (guilty pleasure) for me. Fell in love when I watched Life Unexpected. Just don't think I'd be brave enough to use it. It's elegant but quirky and fun. One I could see on a Disney Princess but also on a bad girl.
Jacqueline & Gemma, although not my favourites, they're both ones I'd find great on somebody elses kid. I know quite a few Jacqueline/Jacklyns and they've all been some of the loveliest. As well as the Gemmas I know. So I think for me its really just knowing someone with the name and feeling it's personally unusable. (Unless I was honouring them or was 100% in love with the name)
Hollis, Tara and Aiyana are NMS, especially the latter. Hollis is sweet but I knew a Holly that I wasnt too fond of. Tara is awesome if not a little dated. (Though in the UK not as popular) and Aiyana is not for me. I love most "Ana" names, but it's a bit too trendy/tryndee for me. I do like alternatives like Ariana or Alana though.

Ill do the boys ASAP.

Did you need middle names for all of them?

Thanks so much!! I really appreciate your insight. Middles would be awesome if possible, I'm trying to put together some combos.

(I really like your idea of having Missy as a nn for Marissa, I think I'm going to use that.)

As much as I hate to admit it, I'm a user of fillers for boys.

I like Austin James, but James has familial meaning to me.

James, Michael, Elijah. But I also love the quirkier Gavin, Ethan, Kyle.

I guess short & sweet middles for boys.

Lux - I love Lux! I agree, short and uncommon. Feels pretty glamorous to me as well :) I can totally see Lux with middle names like: Lux Penelope, Lux Evangeline, Lux Audrey... :)

Gemma - I love it. I had Gemma Aubrey or Gemma Eloise on my list. I think it sounds cutesy on a baby but mature on an adult.

Sloane - Not as much my style, I agree it kinda sounds bitter.

Hollis - I kinda like it, but I have some good associations for it. A character in a book I like, plus a friend of mines little sister is named Hollis. I think it would make a good middle name.. Eleanor Hollis, Avery Hollis, Mara Hollis..

Tara - Its okay, I think it feels a little dated. Like girls my age are named Tara. I kinda like Tara cause its more traditional, though I say Tara like tar-uh, and Terra like tear-uh. I like Terra cause it feels more natural though, like earthy sort of "natural" haha

Jacqueline - also okay, I guess not my style. Jackie is definitely a less elegant nick name, you could use J or Lyn as a nn.. but I think Jacqueline at only 2 syllables is fine without a nick name.

Marisa - its okay. Growing up, I feel like there were always Marissa's / Marisa's wherever I went. Heck within my own family we'll have get togethers with 3 of them in one room. In dance class there were Marissa's, in music class, in school.. I guess its overused in my neck of the woods lol! I prefer the spelling Marissa personally, but thats how I'm used to spelling it. I think the two S's are more frilly. Marisa is okay as well though.

Eleanor - I love Eleanor, beautiful! I think it'd be likely given a nick name though. Even if you don't like Ellie, do you like El / Elle alone? I love Elle! You could always try enforcing just Eleanor, but by the time she'd go to school its highly possible a nick name would pop up.

Aiyana - its okay, NMS.

Missy - Missy is actually one of the nick names for Marissa, so you could get to birds with one stone and use Marisa / Marissa nick name Missy?

Noah - I just love Noah, I wish it weren't so popular! So handsome. I considered it as a middle name for my son, but my OH said it didn't really fit well. Maybe on a future kid haha. Noah Owen Jr is okay, I don't love how Noah and Owen flow into each other personally. But the meaning outdoes that by far :) (they both have the "oh" sound in the beginning).

Jacob - super handsome, I've the same popularity issue though! :( Jacob Noah would also make a super handsome combo.

Lucas - NMS, though I knew a Luke I disliked. Gotta hate it when someone steals your name like that lol

Andrew - NMS, though Andrew nn Andy is nice.

Dominic - This is one of those random names I really dislike but for no real reason. I guess I dislike the sound. I always loved the name Nico though. Could be a cool and a little different nick name. Or just D?

Cameron - I kinda like Camryn on a girl, Cameron on a boy is okay. Camden is on my GP list.

Troye - I don't care for the name, regardless of spelling. Sorry!

Ethan - Its okay, also feels dated.

Austin - nice, I like it a lot.

Kellin - I'm not a fan, sorry.

Hope this helps!

Whatever you wanna do, hon. Both would be appreciated but if you only do boys, it'd be fine.

(For girl's mns, I go with trendier names and try to steer clear of fillers, but I'm a sucker for Claire.)

Doing the boys and will do the girls when I can.

Filler middle names for boys are harder and a lot more subjective. James and John the only one I'm sure on. Traditional, classic boys names are most common middles.

My personal style is obviously a little different to yours. I prefer to use traditional filler mn as fn (like Grace and Marie) and either use a common first name with a more adventorous middle or the other way around.

Noah IMO goes with all of the traditional middles. (Noah Patrick, Noah Christopher and Noah Alexander are my favourites). As for the shorter ones, Noah is pretty short itself so my favourites so far are Noah Ellis, Noah Grey (fun alternative to traditional Graham) and Noah Flynn. Noah has become incredibly popular, so I try to pair it with something a little more playful. (It's one of my top names and Ive had it paired with the likes of Wilder, Archer, Perry, Maxwell, August and Thatcher).

Jacob Henry and Jacob Thomas are my faourites from the classics. For a slight twist on the traditional, Jacob Wilson or Jacob Theodore could be lovely. From the short & sweet list, I love Jacob Dax, Jacob Louis and Jacob Harris. It can also have some more interesting nicknames, so it's fun even if you use a very traditional combo. (E.g Coby, Jace, Jay)

I like Lucas paired with Benjamin from the first list and Perry and Blaine from the second. (Cas could be an interesting nn but the traditional Luke is also a great choice. Or just Lucas!)

I've personally never liked the nn Andy on a boy. Love Andie on a girl, but it's always felt a little feminine to me. (My mother is Andrea, so it's mostly likely because of that!) Drew is my go to nn for Andrew, but to each their own. From list 1 I like it paired with Christian, Timothy and James. (AJ is adorable as a nn!) From list 2 I love Andrew Zane, Andrew Keats and Andrew Seth.

Dominic, Cameron and Troye have never been for me. Like Remy I just can't figure out exactly what I don't like about them.. Nico would be an awesome nickname for Dominic too. Dominic Richard and Dominic West are my top ones. Cameron Jack and Cameron David are my favourites from list 1. From list 2 I'd have to say Jude, Abel and Blake sound good to me. For Troye, I like Alexander, Jackson and Nolan.

Ethan is cute and sweet. I like Ethan Samuel, Ethan Joshua and Ethan Patrick. As for short & sweet, from the second list I like Brody, Jude and Willis.

I go back and forth with Austin (spelled Austen). I just can't decide if I love it or find it.. bland? It's super sweet but was also very popular at one point (I think along with Aidan). I think I'd most likely use it as a middle. (I.e Theodore Austen). I like it paired with Samuel, Jack and Michael. And Austin Cole and Austin Louis maybe.

Kellin is one I'm never sure on either. I like Kelly on a boy (mn only) so I think it does appeal to me. Kellin Thomas, Kellin Andrew and Kellin Edward most. (and I like Kellin Archer and Edmund too) also Kellin Rhys and Kellin Drew.

Obviously these are names you might not like so remember this is just my opinion.

Thanks so much!! I absolutely love the combos you've come up with.

My favourite pairings from your response are Noah Patrick & Noah Flynn, Jacob Harris, Lucas Benjamin (lovely!), Andrew Keats & Andrew Seth, Dominic West, Cameron Jack & Cameron Jude, Troye Alexander, Ethan Joshua (<3), Austin Cole, Kellin Andrew (2 birds) & Kellin Edward.

My favourite MN's from your list are Benjamin, Alexander, Jack, Joshua, Matthew, Patrick, Christian, Jackson, Edward, Michael, Peter, Luke, Daniel, Christopher, Andrew, Gregory, Jude, Brody, Lane, Cole, Liam, Seth, Flynn, Dean, Cody, Blaine, Evan, Ryan, Abel, Colby, Max, Derek, Greer, Micah, Tate, Jace, Drew, Perry (though I associate it with a girl), Blake, Zane, West, Kyle, Toby, Quinn (!!!!!), Colin, Eric.

I really appreciate your thoughts and ideas, and I'll await your girls list!! <3

I'm glad you at least liked a few!

Here's a list of middles (you can obviously also use these as fn to create new combos if theres any you like) trying to do a mix of trendy and a few other styles.

Lux, like I said before, is elegant but also on the more unique and adventurous side. I personally like it with a more traditional/classic middle to balance it out.
PERSONAL FAVES:
Lux Madeleine
Lux Vivian/Vivienne
Lux Juliet/Juliette
Lux Emmeline

Gemma is more on the traditional side (at least in the UK where it's not considered uncommon) Gemma Sloane IMO is a good balance. Gemma is frilly and Sloane is less so. And the flow is nice which is a bonus!
PERSONAL FAVES:
Gemma Elisabeth
Gemma Rosalie
Gemma Sophie

Like Lux, I would pair Sloane with something a little more traditional or common. (Personally, also a little more feminine)
PERSONAL FAVES:
Sloane Victoria
Sloane Margaret
Sloane Piper

Hollis for me is already rather girly and since it's not that unique but also not popular, you could go either way.
PERSONAL FAVES:
Hollis Victoria
Hollis Renee
Hollis Francesca

Tara is dated but was trendy at one point and still fits with most of the short and cute no nickname names like Emma, Ella, Lucy and Claire. I'd either go for a long and elegant middle or something a little more modern and quirky.
PERSONAL FAVES:
Tara Noelle
Tara Imogen
Tara Penelope

Jacqueline for me is much like Tara, but since it's long, I'd pair it with a short 1 (max 2) syllable middle that isnt too boring. Depending on style you could go the more offbeat trendy and modern route or use a more vintage middle to make the combo extra old fashioned and.. retro?
PERSONAL FAVES:
Jacqueline Phoebe
Jacqueline Daisy
Jacqueline Mavis

Marisa is one I could only use as a middle so it's hard for me to suggest anything other than Maris(s)a Lynette to you. But I'll try. It's elegant but not uncommon so IMO it goes best with a longer/one syllable and girly middle. (I.e Marisa Jane or Marisa Evangeline)
PERSONAL FAVES:
Marisa Juliet
Marisa Hadley
Marisa Eve

I'll add on and do the rest when I can.
