Hi, I had a dream the other night that I had a baby girl and named her Ever. The more I thought about it the more I liked it. I was wondering what do you think of the name Ever? Could it be used alone or should it be a nickname for another name like Everly? Should I consider it as a middle name instead? Thanks so much for your time and thoughts.

I find that I prefer Ever as a nickname for something else.  It just doesn't seem complete to me.  I like the name in theory but I don't think I could ever use it for a first name.  Ben and I had the name Evermay picked for a middle name if Wiley had been a girl.  If you would like more full name options for Ever, let me know.

I think Everly would be a great way to honor your grandmother.

I love the name Ever! I heard it years ago in a book and ever (haha) since I've loved it! I think it's great on it's own. It's simple and pretty. One name I do like to use Ever as a nickname is Evaline. I think that's just gorgeous and has an old-timey feel to it.

 

I like Ever or Everly are both great and if using either to honor your grandmother is awesome.

Ever does seem incomplete.  It would seem choppy with most middle names.  Everly nickname Ever (although I prefer the nickname Evie) would be best.
