[Emma 13]

I came up with another story. This time it's a bit of a love story of two teens around 1880. I need some name suggestions.

Here's what I would like suggestions for:

Main Girl: Elizabeth (needs middle and last Ideas)

Her Family: (Full Name Ideas)

Up to 6-8 siblings (girls and boys):

Main Boy: William (needs middle and last Ideas)


His Family: (Full Name Ideas)
(might change parent's first name)
Dad: Charles
Mom: Sarah
Up to 6-8 siblings (girls and boys):

I'm not yet sure about the number of siblings Elizabeth and William will have but it won't be more then 8.

Even if you only have a name suggestion for just one I would love to take it into consideration it.

I like Charles & Sarah, but I don't think Sarah really fits with the time period. What about Alice, Leticia, Nell, Ludie, Henrietta (Hen or Etta)?

Also Grace & Rose are both a bit too modern. I think something a bit more period friendly would be Elizabeth Daphne, Elizabeth Victoria, Elizabeth Cordelia, Elizabeth Sophronia, Elizabeth Erie, Elizabeth Ivy.

I will consider changing the names of Sarah, and Grace or Rose.


I did look up the popularity of the names from 1840-1870 and the names were on the top 100 list.

Sarah was in the top 5 every year and Rose remained within the top 40 every year as well. Grace was in the top 60 coming in at 57 in the 1861-1870 list of names. Since Elizabeth's birthday will be around 1865 I'm going to leave it as a posible choice.

I think Sarah, Grace and Rose are time appropriate. During the 1880's Biblical, nature and virtue names were all common place. The names Sadie and Sally both were common nicknames for Sarah during this time. Sarah, Grace and Rose are names from my own family tree around that time frame.

I'm glad you think that Sarah, Grace, and Rose work in the time period. I'm in the process of picking the semi-final names that I want to use and you've given me a lot of great name ideas. Hopefully the names I pick will work well together. I'm also deciding what the parents and siblings will be like before I choose the final names.
