I have always loved the name Olivia. I always ruled it out because its too popular and trendy. I find myself searching for the "perfect" girl name when I already know I like Olivia- It seems silly. I want a girly cute name, (not so trendy) my first daughter's name is Cassidy and Im due with my second daughter this month.
My other top name:

Caylen

I feel like Caylen is more unusual and its second on my list, but seems like it could also be a boy name and isnt as girly cute?

I myself like Olivia better and it really isn't TOO popular and it is your child, if you love it use it.

I would just ask myself this, how many Olivia's do I know and then go with it.

I say use it. Who cares if it is too popular or over used.

Since Caylen is your second choice, why not go with Olivia Caylen. It sounds real cute and she can always go by Caylen.

Caylen is more girl than boy for me.

A girl I know, loosely I can call her a friend, named her daughter Caelan Marie. I thought it was a pretty name.

I'll admit. I'm not a fan of overly popular names. (I do like Anna.) However, I like the name Olivia. One of. My favorite names is Olivia Hope with the nickname Olive.

Caylen (Caelan, I prefer) Olivia or Olivia Caylen is very pretty!

I love so many names that have become popular!

Noah's at the top of the list for 2009! But I'd still use it.

:P

If you love the name, and you KNOW it's perfect, then it's popularity shouldn't stop you. :P

You can always do what Jenn suggested and give her a more unique mn which she can go by if it starts to be a problem! :)

Caylen is cute.. NMS really. :)

I think Olivia and Cassidy are perfect as a sib-set. Cassidy and Caylen is also sweet, but maybe to matchy? <3

I too love Olivia, and I too worry about the popularity. I think that as long as you choose a name because you love it, not just because it is popular, then you should be okay. I would keep Olivia. Don't just go with Caylen to separate youself from the pack if you don't feel the same way about it.

I had the same issue w/ my love for the name Sophia.. but after a few months of thinking about it, I realized it shouldn't matter... if you love a name, then use it! Don't let the popularity be the only reason you hold back on using a name you love.

I feel the same way about Aiden, which is a name I have loved for almost four years! I will still use it even though it is really popular.

Olivia Caylen is pretty! (but I don't really like the spelling Caylen. Kaylin, Kaylen, Kaylan, Kaelyn, Kaelin, Caelin, Caelyn...play around with it until you find one you really like!)
