So I saw a name list pop up on social media, and usually they are filled with "Aiden" and "Ryder" but this list actually had some intriguing choices:

I don't love all of them, but a few I find charming! Most of them I wouldn't use, but it is fun to think.

What are your favorites? Least favorites?

[[I'll post mine below]]

I like:

Ellis (boy or girl)

Houston (girl)

Hudson (boy or girl)

Lex (boy, I'd make it short for Alexander)

Carnegie (girl)

Vanderbilt (boy)

Amsterdam (boy)

Columbus (boy)

Wythe (girl)

Fulton (girl)

Astor (boy)

Gramercy (girl)

Varick (girl)

Mercer (girl)

Carmine (girl)

obviously, like I said I would never seriously use many of these. But I do like the idea of them! It's fun to think about :)

I think Columbus, Astor, Mercer and Carmine are my favourites of the bunch! Columbus and Astor for boys, maybe nicknamed Colm for Columbus. Mercer and Carmine for girls, Cara for Carmine. I have a soft spot for Vanderbilt nn Van (boy) and Carnegie nn Cara (girl).

I would probably never use these but it was fun!

A lot of them are weird but you're right some are kind of cool I like Waverly, Ellis, Delancey (Feels like a play on Delaney so less of a stretch), Astor, Wythe, Park, Sullivan, Perry, and Bryant.
I like Perry on a boy sounds like a nickname name, and Wythe just seems cool.
I really dislike Stuyvesant, Lorimer, Vanderbilt, and Amsterdam just because their rather wordy or too overtly connected to other things they all just seem a bit much. Pearl, Spring and Prince all rub me the wrong way and i just dislike Nolita, Fulton, and Columbus can't really explain why. I didn't put Chelsea Hudson or Brooklyn down because they all seem common place enough to me now that they didn't really need to be no the list

Waverly (Girl)
Ellis (Boy)
Delancey (Boy)
Astor (Boy)
Wythe (Girl)
Park (alone Boy) (as nickname for Parker Girl)
Sullivan "Sully" (Boy)
Perry (either really, leaning toward Girl)
Bryant (Boy)

I like:

Ellis

Bryant (while it isn't my style at all, it's fashionable and very usable so I like it in that manner)

Pearl

Astor (I like, especially as I've been watching Dexter lately. I always mishear it as Esther though)

Park (I prefer Parker, but still nice!)

Sullivan

Mercer

I dislike:

Carroll

Houston (I might like if it were used on a boy, but even then...)

Delancey

Carnegie (I love the idea of it, it just sounds a little too rough for me.. and sounds like noogie, like ruffling someones head vigorously lol)

Vanderbilt

Amsterdam

Columbus (I want to like, has lots of nick name potential, but... don't want Christopher Columbus attached to my kiddo)

Nolita

Gramercy (nick name Gram? Or Grammar Nazi? lol)

Lorimer (maybe I could grow on it but seems too odd or me now)

Chelsea (not original and not my style)

Stuyvesant

Spring (I like the idea, I just can't see a Dr. Spring Smith. I can't see it aging)

Prince

And I'm on the fence with:

Waverly

Hudson

Lex

Brooklyn (would be on my "like" list except its not very original haha)

Perry

Wythe (for some reason not automatically disliking though I feel I should. Interesting!)

Fulton (nice, nms)

Bowery (I want to like it but when I say it out loud it comes out funny)

Clinton (it does make a nice name, I'm just afraid it sounds too political)

Varick (I think suits a boy more than girl. Not my style but could be nice on someones kid)

Carmine

So I pretty much dislike more than I like. I appreciate the variety though! I'm the same where I expect overused/ popular/ etc sorts of names on these articles. This one was a fun one even if I didn't like many haha.
