Hi all

We are having boy girl twins due on Christmas! We're having a huge issue with choosing first names, because our last name starts with an N and is 1 syllable, and the names we like all have a distinctive N sound which makes it sound like a big mess. So, here we are! Any suggestions will help. We originally wanted:

Knox/Bronx or Griffin for a boy, & Maine or Penny for a girl

Middle names are sort of up for debate. We want a family name so one of these:

Laura, Claire, Peter, Marcus, William

Thanks!

-Lydia & Tim

I tried a few 1-syllable N- surnames and I feel Griffin & Penny do not clash overly.  I think if you go with longer 2 or more syllable names, it breaks up the repetition and flows well.

All three middle name options go well with Griffin..

Griffin William N-

Griffin Marcus N-

Griffin Peter N-

Penny Claire N-  (LOVE!)

For twins, I think Penny Claire & Griffin Peter match nicely. Good Luck!

I think Griffin and Penny would work. I would say the one syllable names are too much with a one syllable, especially if they both have a prominent N

I'd also go with Griffin and Penny, cute names for twins! The other names you picked may clash too much with your last name. If you went with Penelope and chose Penny as a nickname I think the flow would be better and you would have more freedom in choosing a middle name since Penelope is 4 syllables.

I personally think that Penelope Claire has a nicer sound than Penelope Laura.

I like Griffin William the best, although I think that Griffin Marcus works as well!!

I echo sentiments from earlier, but would like to add that if you combine "Griffin" and "Peter," some people may think of the main character from Family Guy, which you may (or more likely may not) want associated with your sweet boy.  :-)

Griffin Marcus is a lovely name!

I actually like Claire or Clara (a shout-out to the Nutcracker and a little less Christmas-obvious than Noelle or Holly) as a first name, with the middle name a three syllable ending in ee (like Rosalie) to go w your one-syllable N last name.

Would Clara Rosalie interest you?
