So, I have been watching this new show in the CW called Life Unexpected (great show by the way - you should check it out). The daughter's name is Lux and I am really loving this name. The meaning of the name is Light and it is of Greek origin.

I'm on the fence. I used it for a character name along time ago, but barely can remember the story.
I think of Kristen Dunst from the Virgin's Suicide when I hear the name.
But Lux Alexandra or Alexandra Lux popped into my head when I thought of a combo. I prefer the spelling without an -e

Or Juliet Lux/Lux Juliet, Brooklyn Lux/Lux Brooklyn, Lux Saoirse/Saoirse Lux, or Lux Camille/Camilla Lux.

Though I think it's better as a nickname (either to a real name or something else), I like Lux better.
It's very cute and different. I love it!

I'm soooo in love with this name & the show! It's like kinda like my life! Well being in foster care and what not! It's my new fave show! I like it Lux even tho Luxe with an "e" is cute too. I also like Luz means "light" as well but Lux is spunky n cute esp with the "x". I was thinking you could even use Lux as a nickname for Lucy/Lucie/Lucille etc names that mean light also?!? but it could be just me a big nickname fan! I deff liked the name from the virgin suicides too.

loo-x I'm terrible at writing pronunciations LOL anyways the sound should be just like the "Lu" in Lucy.. just add an X instead of the "cy" part.Umm.. I'm not sure how to prn it... <3
I don't think I'd have the heart to call a child that. But it would be a cute nickname for Lucy or Lucille-- they have the same root anyway.
Luce also means light (prn. LOO-chay). It is part of my last name, and sometimes my friends call me Lux or delux

It's actually like saying "lucks"
It's an abbreviation of the word Luxurious, like saying "We're living the luxe life"
Hope that makes sense/helps.

You're right, I was pronouncing it the Italian way. It's actually like saying "lucks"
It's an abbreviation of the word Luxurious, like saying "We're living the luxe life"
Hope that makes sense/helps.
But still, the word Lux -originally- is Latin and means light.. and it's pronounced loox
