So, I have always LOVED the name Chad, but have a hard time picturing it on a small boy. What can it be a nn for? I googled it, but only a few weird things came up... I thought surely all of you lovely ladies could come up with something better!

Also, have been loving Kai/Kye recently for a girl (probably because I like the name Skye, in which case I would only use one or the other) but when I asked about on the polls I got bad feedback... thoughts?
If I were to use Kai on a boy, I was thinking Hezekiah nn Kai. Hezekiah is a really cool Biblical name but definitely not common so I thought the nn was needed and nice.
Finally, I love the name Alaska for a girl but need mn suggestions.
Opinions please on all of these!
Thank you<3
Grace

I have heard that Chad is a nickname for Chadwick and also for Charles! I love the name Skye! As for Kai, I love it on a boy! A little boy I was a nanny for was named River Kai! I like Hezekiah(I personally wouldn't use it, but i like it)! I love the name Alaska!! As for middle names I am going to suggest Rose or Skye!! :)

My FIL is just Chad. I don't know how well it fit when he was young though.
My cousin Chad is really a Chadwick. No one really gave him a hard time with it.

I definitely prefer Kai on a boy but I know a little Kai so he's my first association with the name however I don't mind it on a girl. I like Malachi with the nn Kai. Hezekiah is nice, Kai is a bit of a stretch but totally doable.

I can't really help on middle names for Alaska because I suck at combos but the name is great.

Thank you, The Future Mrs B!!!
I like Malachi nn Kai as well, but was trying to find a way to make Hezekiah more usable. I am glad you like it too.
Thanks for your input <3

I think Chad can work on a kid just fine, but that might be because I know a guy named Chad that I met in elementary school, so I have no problem picturing it on a child.  As far as names that Chad could be a nickname for, I think Chandler could work.

I generally think of Kai as a boys name, but it could work on a girl, especially if it was used as a nickname for something. Kai is sometimes used as a nickname for Katherine (or some variant of Katherine; there are tons).

I think using Kai as a nickname for Hezekiah is a great idea. I agree with you that the nickname makes Hezekiah more usable.

I'm not crazy about the name Alaska (or most place names in general), but as far as middle names go, I'd stay away from word names like Rose, Dawn, Skye, etc. because the combo just seems like a thing. (I hope that makes sense...XD).

Anyways, I hope this helps! Good luck!

The only two Chad's I know are just Chad, no long form. I have heard of it being used for Charles, though, which is nice.

I adore Hezekiah nn Kai!

I actually prefer Kai on a girl rather than a boy. It's so spunky and sweet. The TV show Beyond the Break's starring character was a girl named Kai. :)

Alaska was on my list for a bit! Very lovely;

Alaska Blythe

Alaska Ruth

Alaska Blaire

Alaska Mary

Alaska Hollis

Alaska Jane

Thanks!
Marvelous Things, I really like Chandler... never thought about that before.
And, Kai as a nick name for Kathrine is also very unique. I totally understand what you mean about pairing another word name with Alaska :)

Addy, I am considering just using Chad... trying to picture a baby boy and saying "baby Chad" :) Thanks for the mn suggestions. I absolutely LOVE Alaska Ruth <3
