Okay, so I've been debating for a few months now on whether I should bring up my guilty pleasure name, but it has stood the test of time!

And now, I've been debating on which middle name spot sounds best! Or first name spot... I just kinda want it on my list..

It doesn't sound... dumb, does it? Like I'm trying to be unique and epically failing? Do you think this name will age well? Do you see lots of teasing potential?

So, I want it to match my favorite girls names, Katherine Willow/Piper, and maybe Willow Juliet.

~ Alaska Juniper
~ Alaska Elisabeth
~ Alaska Willow
~ Alaska Juliet
~ Alaska Hadley
~ Alaska Shiloh
~ Alaska Natalie
~ Katherine Alaska
~ Willow Alaska
~ Natalie Alaska
~ Molly Alaska
~ Rory Alaska
~ Kiley Alaska
~ Noelle Alaska

So, what do you think? Do any of these sound kind of like, perfect? I'm open to any suggestions! I've been having a brain block on what would sound perfect...

But yes. Looking For Alaska by John Green is my all time, absolute favorite book. LOVE! <3 And I am in love with the character Alaska, and I honestly have made a different outlook on many things after reading that book. Totally changed some personal things to me... <3 So, I guess using the name might just be expressing my deep love for the character, but I really do like how it sounds lol!

Thanks sooo much! <3

I think Alaska is interesting. Here are the combos I like:

Alaska Juniper
Alaska Willow
Alaska Juliet
Willow Alaska

Of course Willow and Juliet are two of my favorite names, so...

Hehe, thank you so much for your opinion!

Willow Juliet is extremely high on my name list, so I'm thinking I will use it. Either if I use it as a sibset of two girls named Katherine ___ and Willow Juliet, or as Katherine Willow and Alaska Juliet, etc.. <3 I adore Willow right now! Though I love Alaska more... :)

Do you think that using an odd name with Alaska is a bad idea? Being this is a generally unique name, should I even it out with a traditional name?

Haha, okay! So it's not too odd to worry? I'm glad you don't seem to think it's so odd :)

I've been looking at the middle name generator on the mainpage and trying to find some more options, and so far have came up with:

~ Alaska Sophia (not my fav though lol)
~ Alaska Cadence
~ Alaska Molly
~ Alaska Madeleine
~ Alaska Talia
~ Alaska Evelyn

Not sure how much I like those either, anways. But who knows. I'll sleep on the middle names and see what I think in the morning ;)

I'm not a fan, but then again it is just a GP. You should see some of the stuff on my GP list (Saffron, Antigone, Kaede!). ;) Alaska is certainly not bad, though it feels very different from the style of your other names. I like that there is a regular nickname available, too. That's always nice. I don't think it would age that well. :) Sorry. I just have a hard time picturing the name on anybody over 30. Also, it's a noun name so it would make some conversations a bit funny sounding. Like, "Have you seen Alaska? Alaska, you are late again. Hey Alaska, what are your plans on Friday?" Yeah. I don't think it works well, sorry! If it helps, it is one of the most usable state names I think. I like it better than Dakota or Arizona, but less than Caroline/a or George/ia.

Anyway, if I were you I'd still keep it on my list. You never know how names are going to look when you actually get to name a kid.

From your list I like:

Alaska Shiloh and Noelle Alaska (though this is too noun-y for me).

You know what Alaska strangely reminds me of? Saskia. Ooh, I happen to love Saskia. ;)

Hehe, oh my guilty pleasure list... <3 I love Antigone, haha! I read a story called that and accidently called her "anti-gone" so everyone laughed at me :)

It really does have a different feel, and probably would stand out with Chase and Liam/Leo, or even Kate! :P

I do like how she could be called Allie if she didn't like Alaska all the time, though I also did think of Las/Lassie ( :o ) lol

I don't think I could either, actually... :/ a forty year old Alaska... :L a sixty year old Alaska! :o

Though, I don't mind noun names too much, hence why Chase is on my list :P So saying something like, "Hey! Where's Alaska?" or any of the above doesn't bother me much ;) Just as Chase doesn't ;)

Haha, who knows! Maybe Alaska will start rising in popularity in ten years from now! :P Though, I must agree it does sound better than many place names, ie Arizona, Dakota, Asia, etc. I dislike those greatly :L And honestly, I dislike most place names! :o

Saskia does sound kind of cute, but Alaska isn't only a name I think is cute, it has great meaning behind it :P <3

Though, Alaska Shiloh and Noelle Alaska do seem to noun-ish :/ I'm open to all suggestions, though!!!

Do you think Alaska Cadence has too much "kuh" sound in it? Alaska Madeleine might be pretty close to perfect, actually... <3

Actually, I don't really have a problem with it aging. The only problem for me--since it's Christmastime--is all I can think about is baked Alaska (an ice cream dish that's served at Christmas). This name makes me hungry :) ! Also, it's a little too "out there" for me, too, but if you love it, that's all that matters. You're right, Alaska Cadence may be too much, but Alaska Madeleine is perfect!

I greatly dislike the spelling Kylie for Kiley! Don't know why, but it irritates me! Just as I greatly dislike (wont say hate! :D ) Rylie! I dunno, it looks silly to me, haha! <3 (no offense to Kylie lovers, or Rylie fans!). I can mayyybe deal with Kylee/Rylee, but Kiley just seems balanced, not over-girlified, and like it ages better I guess. I do like Kiley Alaska though <3

You can picture a sixty year old Alaska? Hmm... Haha, I've never had a baked Alaska before, but it always sounded delicious to me! <3 Hmm, I guess I'll have to think about it for a while longer lol. I don't want it to be too out there for the baby either! :P I do like Alaska Madeleine a lot though <3 Maybe even Madeleine Alaska or something, cause middle name slots are the best place for creativity!

Woot, I think that is perminently added to my list in progress, haha! Cause no matter how much I like it, I think it'll work best as a middle name :D
