CNN reports a woman in California gave birth to eight babies. 6 boys and 2 girls!

They initially thought it was seven and found the eighth during delivery:

During the delivery Monday, doctors were taking the babies out one by one, naming them for a letter of the alphabet and giving them to an assigned nurse, she said. After "G," the team thought they had all the babies, but "I said, 'Well, now we have H, everyone,'" she recalled.

No word on names other than A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H.

I wonder what names the BNG community members would pick using those letters to start the name for each one of the eight babies...

This is so incredible! I wonder how she reacted to the news of the 8th baby. We get a lot of comments b/c we have 4 under the age of 6 (no multiples). I always tell people that adding the 2nd one was really hard, but after that it's a piece of cake. Maybe she had the same reaction to finding out she was getting 8 instead of 7?

I like Biblical names so these would be my choices:
Asher
Benjamin
Charis
Dinah
Eli
Felix
Gideon
Holden

I wanted to post this, but was waiting to see if they released their names. I really want to know their names! I hope the parents don't use anything too matchy or trendy.

In the mid time, I'll pretend I am lucky enough to get to name them:

Adelaide or Atticus
Briony or Benjamin
Claire or Christopher
Dalia or Daniel
Evander or Emma
Freya or Finley
Gabriella or Gideon
Hazel or Henry

AND, I of course love thinking of baby names even though that is a VERY far in the future thing for me because I'm still young!

This woman makes my heart hurt. All of her children were conceived through IVF...because she isn't married, she already had 6 kids, and now she has 8 more!!!?!?

Her parents are helping her but they're up there in years...they won't be able to help for as long as she's going to need help for!
And I don't know of any guy willing to marry a woman who has 14 kids that aren't his!

Financially, I heard that Extreme Home Makeover asked her if they could build her a house...not sure if this is true or not, but apparently she turned them down.

This woman is going to be on welfare so taxpayers will buying her kids' clothing and food. I think she lives in California...so any BNG members from Cali have fun knowing that some of your hard earned money will go to paying for her kids' stuff.

I don't mean to vent and I don't mean to take away from the fact that this woman did have octuplets which is a miracle. But I feel bad for those poor babies, their older siblings, and the grandparents. I have 6 going on 8 and sometimes, I feel guilty that we don't get to spend as much quality time with each of them as we'd like. We certainly try our hardest...but I can't imagine trying to spend time with and form good parent-child relationships with 14 children at the same time.

Thanks for letting me get this out!
