Drew Barrymore has given birth to a baby girl.

The 37-year-old actress and her husband Will Kopelman welcomed their first child, Olive, last Wednesday (26.09.12) and have asked for privacy during this "special time".

The happy couple issued a statement reading: "We are proud to announce the birth of our daughter, Olive Barrymore Kopelman, born Sept. 26th, healthy, happy and welcomed by the whole family.

I read in an article that when she was younger, Drew considered the name Ruby Daffodil for a baby girl. I'm glad she went with the elegant and sweet Olive instead!

I wonder if she got the idea from when she voiced Olive the Other Reindeer.

Olive is cute! I'm SO glad they chose a normal, feminine name for their daughter. Is Barrymore her middle name? NMS, but not awful, either.

Congrats to the new parents!

I think Olive is a nice variation on the ever-popular Olivia. Happy for Drew!

I'm not a fan of Olive. It reminds me of Olive Green :/

I do like that they made Barrymore her middle name tho!

I adore Drew Barrymore  So I'm especially happy they chose a name I adore!

Olive is elegant and simply gorgeous, and ages wonderfully well which is just another plus.

I understand giving your child your surname as a middle name if using your partners last name. Not sure if Barrymore is her middle or a double-barreled surname.

Either way, gorgeous parents, gorgeous name and I'm sure STUNNING baby too.

Olive is a lovely, sweet name. Not what I expected here to pick, but a nice choice

Honestly, Olive is sweet & not such an 'out-there celeb name'. Very pretty! :)
Olive _insert name here_ Barrymore Kopelman, would have been more fitting. But nonetheless, lovely name & congrats to them.
